Two years and a month after Horizon Forbidden West launched on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, PC gamers can finally step into the vast and gorgeous post-apocalyptic Western USA created by Guerrilla Games.

Skull and Bones, the live service pirate game that released just over two weeks ago on PS5, is already having its price slashed across the US and Europe. It was a full-price title at launch — your now-standard $69.99 / £69.99 — but it's currently down to as low as $44.99 / £49.85 (as reported by VGC). While that's certainly not what we'd call cheap, it's still a significant discount after such a short length of time on the market, and it suggests that retailers are struggling to shift copies.
Ubisoft's «AAAA» title (it's never escaping that one, is it?) was delayed numerous times over the course of several years before finally releasing last month. Unfortunately for the publisher, its arrival was met with rather lukewarm reviews and plenty of social media memes regarding its live service gameplay elements. It's been a bit of a damp squib, and the game didn't even have much hype behind it to begin with.
Honestly, we don't think it'll be long until these price points come tumbling down even further. Assuming Ubisoft continues to support Skull and Bones over the coming months, potential buyers will probably be best off waiting for big updates and even bigger discounts.
Did you envision an easier road to success for Skull and Bones, or is it destined to be forgotten sooner rather than later? Man the cannons in the comments section below.
Robert's been a dedicated PlayStation fan since the days of Tekken 2, and he still loves a good dust up. When he's not practising combos, he's usually getting lost in the latest 100-hour RPG, or, y'know, replaying The Witcher 3.
Ubisoft games seem to always go on discount fast. Wonder how they even stay open.
Awful
Abysmal
Atrocious
A bad video game that's not worth 70$
That's what the 4 AAAA's stand for.
hAAAAhAAAA!
Helldivers 2 is more salt to the Ubi wound hopefully
It's dead in the water. Pun intended.
This would have been canned long ago if it weren't for the government of the Philippines. Yet another pile of live service drivel which nobody wanted and nobody will miss.
Who would've guessed! This game should really have been £30 or F2P, or non existent
@Johnnycide I think it was Singapore, not Philippines
@Americansamurai1 because games like Valhalla made $1billion.
Skull & Bones will be a big mess to sort out though, and other games will have to make up for it. But then they have a Star Wars game coming at some point, so...
I think they are just glad it's finished more than anything. Obviously they'd love if it became a hit but I doubt they were really banking on Skull & Bones being a massive hit.
They can look at the bright side. It's out and now they can move the devs over to something more important like the Black Flag remake...well as soon as the post launch

Sony has established a brand new production line for PlayStation 5 discs in Brazil, which should help make it easier for players in Latin America to obtain physical media for the console.
Sony has set up a new production line in Brazil, where it will manufacture physical PlayStation 5 game discs.
The Explore page on the PS5 home screen appears to be running a beta that adds new features like backgrounds, friend activities, your controller's battery life, and easy links to console storage. Mystic, a popular PlayStation YouTuber, posted a new video today detailing the additions, which appear to have only rolled out to select PS5 users. You can see what's new in the video above.
Prior to its release, few predicted PS Portal would be successful. Many were baffled by Sony’s decision to release the Remote Play handheld, which streams gameplay directly from a PS5. But as the months wear on, it’s becoming increasingly obvious that Sony’s added a permanent fixture to its hardware portfolio, with the device exceeding expectations.
Helldivers 2 is the best-selling video game of 2024 so far in the USA. Full stop. Done. Accounting for both physical and digital purchases, Circana data places it at the top of the sales charts for both February 2024 and the year so far. The unexpected hit is said to have sold more than eight million copies, but that stat will have increased since. The PS5, PC title beat out competition from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to land top spot for the month, though the Square Enix sequel did release on the final day of February.
PlayStation 5 players in the USA may be in for a major upgrade to their Explore page, as showcased by content creator Mystic. This update still seems to be in beta, so not all USA users will see this change on their PS5 at the moment. However, given Sony's tendency to conduct beta tests before rolling out significant upgrades, it's only a matter of time before all users can enjoy the new Explore page. Also, it's worth mentioning that only USA accounts can access the Explore functionality, and Sony has never explained why.
Helldivers 2 has taken the world by storm ever since its launch in early February, so it’s no surprise that the game is continuing to top sales charts all over the world. Circana (formerly known as the NPD Group) recently released the data for software and hardware sales in the US for the month of February (via analyst Mat Piscatella on Twitter), and Arrowhead Game Studios and Sony’s co-op shooter has topped those charts.
PS5 deals have hit both the US and UK in Amazon's Spring Sale, offering up a fantastic Spider-Man 2 bundle with a price cut to boot in the former region and a record discount on the console itself across the pond. That means players on both sides of the ocean can grab Sony's latest console with some serious value attached.
Sony knows it’s onto a good thing with the PS Store, as with each passing week it continues to add dozens of new titles, all of which are ripe for future reductions and price promotions. That means we’re seeing bigger and bigger sales every month, and time-limited Weekend Offers are becoming a thing on top of regularly scheduled sale events.
Skull and Bones has extended its first season by a week, re-enabled chat, and added opt-in open world PvP, a major community request.
The PS5 Pro performance shouldn't be expected to be double the framerate in GPU-limited scenarios over the base model based on specs alone, according to a recent analysis.
