FuRyu’s compelling Shibuya-set action RPG outing REYNATIS has attracted a lot of interest since being announced for the PS5 and PS4 in Japan last week, but many were waiting on confirmation of a Western release. Following this week’s full-length trailer, that’s now come courtesy of NIS America, who’s signed on as publisher in North America and Europe.
There’s no specific date just yet, but the firm says the title will feature Japanese language audio and English text when it arrives on these shores, and it’s also adding a PC version. The adventure – helmed by a number of high-profile Square Enix alumni – will launch in Japan on 25th July, so you’ll be waiting a little while for localised edition.
“Seeking freedom through strength, the wizard Marin heads to Shibuya, where he meets Sari, an officer of the MEA, an organization dedicated to keeping wizards under control,” the blurb teases. “Conceal your magic to explore the city as a regular civilian and shop or take on quests, or use your explosive powers to reach new locations and battle those who stand in your way.”

I'm intrigued, but the graphics straight up look like a PS3 remaster of a PS2 game ported to PS4 that's playable on PS5. Maybe it's my phone.
@SlySnake0407 no, you're right, but I mean we still play 16-bit games in 2024 and praise them for their graphics.
Not for me personally. Not talking about graphics btw. Just genuinely doesn't look interesting at all. The animation work during combat is stiff as hell. CRYMACHINA suffered with the same issues as well. They want to be action games, but they lack the fluidity of a well crafted action game. Anything FuRyu makes is generally loved by a very small minority anyway.
I'm good with the graphics as long as it maintains a smooth 60fps. I'm getting Tokyo Xanadu and Scarlett Nexus vibes. Definitely intriguing at the right price point.

Team Ninja returns with the PlayStation 5 exclusive title Rise of the Ronin. While there’s an understandably heavy influence of the Nioh franchise in the developer’s latest title, this action RPG forgoes monsters and magic for a straight-up samurai adventure set during the Bakumatsu of the Edo period. Resultantly, there’s a lot of history (and fiction) to explore in 19th century Japan.
Memories Off is a long-running series of romantic novels which first debuted on the PlayStation in 1999. Despite spawning multiple sequels, and being localised into languages like Korean and Traditional Chinese, it’s never actually launched in Western territories – well, until now. PQube is on the case, with SINce Memories: Off the Starry Sky targeting a 2024 launch on the PS4.

A series constant, Final Fantasy's Moogle is a familiar sight to many, and along with the Chocobo, serves as a mascot of sorts for the franchise. But the busted-looking Moogle we got in the recently released Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has been rejected by a particular segment of the community, who are convinced the gritty redesign looks more like Matthew McConaughey playing a drug mule named Miguel than a fantastical portmanteau of mole and bat.
