Sand Land, the new open-world action-adventure based on one of Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama’s lesser-known works is out now, and its surprisingly complex for an anime adaptation. Check the Items menu
If you’re looking for a specific material, check out the items menu and materials tab. Everything you’ve come across will be listed there, along with a hint about how to find them so you’re not searching totally blind.
Upgrade Thief's skills
As you level up, you can choose to unlock new skills for your party members, and if you’re looking more money and materials, you’ll want to focus on Thief’s skill tree. The “Boom Box” and “Spoils of War” skills are particularly good for getting more materials early on and “Zeni Ahoy” will get you more money. Meanwhile, the "Thief Radar" will highlight hidden chests and items in the immediate area.
Shops are more useful than you might think
In a lot of crafting-heavy games like this, shops are pretty much useless, but that’s not really the case in Sand Land. If you’re missing a couple items needed for a vehicle upgrades, check out the shop and there’s a good chance they’ll have it. Do any sidequests you can for the item shop in your main base of Spino Town (“Lost Peddler” is the first one) to increase its inventory.
Check out Caves and Buttes
As you’re travelling around, various caves and buttes (stacks of rocks) will be marked on the map. Always make a point of checking these out, as 100 percent of the time they’ll either offer a nice cache of crafting materials or chests to open.
Do some Ruins raiding
In addition to your main story missions, Sand Land also contains a number of Ruins – essentially optional bonus dungeons – you can explore. These are always worth delving into, and they’re filled with enemies to grind for XP and chests with unique crafting materials and items. Just light up a radio tower and all the Ruins in the area will be marked on your map.
Off to the Races!
Dotted around the map are locations where you can engage in races with a specific vehicle. These races aren’t particularly difficult and can be repeated to your heart’s content, so are a good place to farm for money and materials without having to do too much wandering.
Pick up some Bounties
If you want a nice chunk of XP and the best rewards and materials in the game, it's time to go after some Bounties. Most settlements will have a Hunter you

Despite having the best-selling game of all time in Grand Theft Auto V, and GTA VI on the way, mega publisher Take-Two Interactive have been going through some belt-tightening, recently cutting 5 percent of its workforce and canceling some projects. The big “E3” announcement season (E3 is dead, but you know what I mean) is almost here, and Microsoft has officially staked out their spot. Taking place in early June, the Xbox Games Showcase will feature games from Microsoft’s full portfolio of developers, including “Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda, Xbox Game Studios” and even some third-party publishers. Interestingly, like last year with Starfield, this will be a “double feature” with a main showcase, and a “Direct” which will dive deeper on a specific game.
