A new is out, previewing some of the more RPG elements set to be included in Nacon’s game when it releases on November 2, 2023.
The new video showcases some gameplay of players battling it out with people as RoboCop, as well as what the game’s skill tree looks like. The video also highlights some of the decision-making elements of RoboCop: Rogue City. According to the trailer, there will be “difficult choices” to make based on the players’ sense of justice, whether it be upholding the law to the exact letter or doing what’s best for the public.
Teyon, the developer behind RoboCop: Rogue City, is mostly known for its shooters based on film franchises from the 1980s. It developed Rambo: The Video Game in 2014, an on-rails shooter that was critically panned. According to a report by YouTuber Matt McMuscles, the game was plagued with development issues that ranged from management to marketing to scope, which resulted in an average score of 37. Terminator: Resistance was widely seen as a better title, with a higher average score of 55 and then a 61 for its enhanced version.

The RoboCop franchise hasn’t had much of a presence in games over the years, but as a developer that’s proven that it can handle adaptations of classic sci-fi Hollywood franchises, Teyon seems well positioned to change that with the upcoming RoboCop: Rogue City. And ahead of the first person shooter’s imminent launch, publisher Nacon has released another new trailer for it.
Just a few days before the game’s release, NACON and TEYON are offering players the chance to discover the original story featured in RoboCop: Rogue City, which was adapted from the MGM Studios franchise. The scenario develops an intriguing new plot incorporating plenty of references to delight die-hard fans. And players who love first-person, action games will not feel left out as there is also a second video, which was recently presented exclusively at the Xbox Showcase. Additionally, beginning today until 29 October, London MCM Comic Con attendees will have the chance to play RoboCop: Rogue City at stand S1905. The game will be released 2 November 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Players who pre-order the “Alex Murphy Edition” will get access 48 hours early.

Do you remember how RoboCop: Rogue City was coming to Switch? No you don’t, because it’s not happening! Nacon has confirmed that their plans for a Switch version has been quietly tossed in the dumpster.
As recently as earlier this year, publisher Nacon and developer Teyon were saying that the upcoming first-person shooter RoboCop: Rogue City would eventually also be coming to the Nintendo Switch, even if a release date for that version hadn’t been confirmed. However, with the game now just a couple of weeks again from releasing for other platforms, Nacon has confirmed that, as some may have feared, plans for a Switch version of the title have been shelved.
Publisher Nacon and developer Teyon have cancelled the Switch version of RoboCop: Rogue City, which was originally planned to launch sometime after the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) versions due out on November 2.
