The only thing that could make Mario Kart more stressful is adding Resident Evil-style fixed camera angles to it - so obviously one modder has done exactly that.

You can save a bunch of money on all kinds of things this New Year, including video games. One of the best games of 2023 is a from-the-ground-up remake of Resident Evil 4 (see our 10/10 review).
Like the remakes of the previous games, this one is excellently made and just phenomenally fun to play. And thanks to this latest New Year deal, it's available on PS5, PS4, and Xbox for just $30. That's a killer deal.
In this reimagined version of the game, we catch up with Leon six years after the Raccoon City disaster. As an agent reporting directly to the President of the United States, he faces his toughest mission yet: rescuing the President's kidnapped daughter from a mysterious European village engulfed in madness.
The remake, reconstructed using Capcom's RE Engine, enhances the visuals and adds new story elements to deliver a modern gaming experience that feels both new, yet true to the original.
The game introduced a close third-person camera that made the tense gameplay feel extra, er, tense. You'll engage in frenzied combat with the Ganados villagers, explore a European village overrun by murderous villagers, and solve puzzles to survive Leon and Ashley's whole ordeal.
While the original feels fairly clunky by modern standards, this remake improves the gameplay to meet contemporary survival horror standards. You have an array of attack methods, including enhanced knife skills. The attaché case is back, offering expanded storage, ammunition crafting, and new customization options.

Say what you will about the likes of Resident Evil 4, its iconic B-movie cheese means it’s a game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. However, there’s being flippant about certain aspects of your IP and…whatever’s going on with this mod.
While there’s nothing wrong with playing the remake of Resident Evil 4 as intended, some have been hoping for a first-person view. The VR update does allow for that, but now there is a mod for those that don’t have a headset but still want a first-person RE4 experience.
Sony has revealed the next batch of titles bidding a fond farewell to its PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscription tiers in February, which this time include the likes of Resident Evil 7, Tekken 7, and Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown.
Speedrunning is, from my own outsider’s perspective, an impressive effort in constantly chasing new goals. At first, runners might try to simply finish a game as fast as possible. Then, they might try to fully finish it, or complete certain objectives, or hit credits with limiters on themselves. It’s that last bucket that CarcinogenSDA’s run of Resident Evil 2 Remake at AGDQ 2024 falls under.
A Resident Evil 2 speedrunner has done the unthinkable and beaten the game on Hardcore difficulty without taking any damage whatsoever - but it was a stressful journey.
Resident Evil 2 was a masterpiece when it was originally released more than 25 years ago on the original PlayStation, and it was a masterpiece when it was gorgeously remade in 2019. Capcom’s remake is now on Xbox Game Pass for the first time, and it’s one of the easiest recommendations I can make. It sets the standard for a modern-day remake of a groundbreaking video game, and helped inspire last year’s similarly great Dead Space remake.
Capcom games are being review-bombed after the developer recently introduced new anti-modding software.
CAPCOM has reportedly reverted a Resident Evil Revelations update that brought in a digital rights management (DRM) through Enigma Protector.
After facing a fair bit of criticism from players, Capcom has rolled back its recent update for the PC version of Resident Evil Revelations. The update added a new DRM to the title, dubbed Enigma Protector. Since the original release of the update, Resident Evil Revelations has seen quite a few negative reviews on Steam.
The PC version of Resident Evil: Revelations has been review bombed 11 years after it first launched. Resident Evil: Revelations originally released as a Nintendo 3DS exclusive game in 2012 before eventually making its way to other platforms, with the PC version releasing in 2013.
11-year-old game Resident Evil Revelations recently released an update that apparently introduced DRM, only to swiftly roll back the patch after complaints from players that it reportedly caused performance issues. Capcom aren’t giving up that easily on their vow to crack down on mods, though.
