Here's the combination to Ford's chest and what to do with the item you find inside.
By Billy Givens on
Ward 13 is the main hub of Remnant II and contains a wide variety of NPCs you'll need to interact with to upgrade weapons or purchase new items--but it also contains a handful of important secrets. One of these is a chest you may have stumbled upon while exploring Ford's chambers. We'll tell you the combination of the chest and what to do with the item inside.
The combination to Ford's chest is closer to you than you may think. As a matter of fact, if you open your inventory and examine the flashlight Ford gave you early in the game, you'll see a four-digit code: 0415.
Input the combination on the chest to open it. Inside, you'll find the Cargo Control Key. Leave the area and go back back downstairs. Head all the way north past a chainlink fence and through some shipping containers to find a locked door where you can use the key.
Inside the room, you'll find the MP60-R on a desk. This SMG is an extremely solid choice for any archetype's secondary weapon, as it dishes out some pretty solid damage for a sidearm.

One of the focuses of the recently released RPG-shooter Remnant II is build crafting, with the game’s new Archetypes being at the core of that experience. There are more than 10 of these Archetypes, with some being much more complex to unlock than others. In fact, the Archon Archetype went undiscovered for several days until dataminers managed to figure out all the required steps (developer Gunfire Games specifically designed it so only dataminers could figure out the process). That said, while dataminers found the method for unlocking the Archon Archetype, you don’t need to be a dataminer to do it – there is a regular in-game way.
Remnant II has sold more than one million units across all platforms in its first week, so Stella, Kahlief, and Destin discuss how Remnant II has improved from its original game formula and how unique the gameplay loop is. Plus: Baldur’s Gate 3 won’t be releasing on Xbox for quite some time, your Xbox controller will be easier to repair on your own, and we have the full list of games joining and leaving Xbox Game Pass for August.
Your build is everything in Remnant 2. Unless you’re able to see into the future, you may need to reset your spent traits to experiment with powerful combos — you never know what gear you’ll find while exploring the randomly generated biomes of the multiverse. You can reset your earned points at any time by crafting an Orb of Undoing at Ward 13, your main hub of the game. By using the Orb of Undoing you’ll reset all your points, giving you a second chance to reallocate them as you see fit. This can completely change your playstyle, so it’s important to use the orb wisely.
Remnant II is doing very well for itself. Just yesterday, Gunfire Games and Gearbox Publishing announced that the Soulslike third-person shooter game already sold over a million units, with PC registering over double the first game's concurrent player peak on Steam.
Want to be as tough as you can possibly be in Remnant 2? You’re going to need the Leto Mark 2 Armor Set, a hidden set of armor that is ridiculously heavy but provides the best protection in the entire multiverse. To really make this set viable, you’ll need an accessory to fight back against the extreme encumbrance — there are multiple rings and amulets that can help you with that. Below, we’ll explain how exactly to reach the Leto Mark 2 Armor and how to unlock two accessories that speed up your rolling.
Unlock the Alchemist in Remnant 2 by exploring the creepy streets of the Losomn biome. This bonus class gives you additional potions to buff yourself and others while improving your consumable skills. Getting this hidden archetype involves stumbling into a random event while running around the streets of Losomn, one of the later biomes of the game. Near a sewer grate, an unseen creature can drag your character into the underground and initiate a bonus boss fight. If you can overcome the optional boss, you’ll earn the key item required to unlock the Alchemist.
Some of the best weapons in Remnant 2 can be unlocked right at the start. Others are going to take more work, so we’ve put together a list of the best weapons we’ve found so far. These weapons are great for almost every class, and the right combination of mods can make your weapons absolutely melt bosses. Even if you’re playing solo, these are weapons you need to unlock — and one of the best can be purchased in Ward 13.
At Final Fantasy 14 FanFest 2023 North America, attendees were given the opportunity to challenge Asura, the upcoming Primal Trial that will appear through a new content patch. As one such attendee, I took this opportunity in hand and fought my way through the FanFest online queue (which required attendees to uninstall and reinstall the app to get it working properly) to mark my place in line with other prospective Warriors of Light to tackle this new Trial.
The trait system and progression blockers are being fixed.
The school holidays have begun which, predictably means that it’s been raining and drizzling up and down the country. Luckily, we have the technology to deal with the rain – we can sit inside playing video games. This week I’ve been playing loads of multiplayer, first in Exoprimal, and second in Remnant II. I’ve had a whole hell of a good time with them both, though one is clearly superior than the other. Can you guess which one it is? Besides these two, I’ve carried on playing more Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp because… well, it’s Advance Wars.
Remnant II has been referred to as a “looter-shooter” by some, but the amount of weapons and gear you’ll find out in the game’s world is actually pretty limited. That said, there are a few secrets to find, including the Chicago Typewriter. Essentially a version of the classic Tommy gun, this is not only an effective weapon, but likely a fun reference to other games that have had their own Chicago Typewriters, like the Resident Evil series. So, how do you find it? It’s not too tough if you know how. Follow these steps and you’ll be rubbing out dirty rats in no time…
