You have a choice of four, but there's one that is generally your best bet.

Upon reaching the end of Remnant II's tutorial section, you'll be tasked with crafting a weapon mod that attaches to your gun and allows you to use a specific damage or utility skill on a cooldown. There are four to choose from, and we'll break them down a bit below--but there's one that no doubt stands above the rest for most builds in the early portion of the game.
There are tons of weapon mods to buy and craft throughout Remnant II, but the tutorial gives you a selection of only four. Here's what to expect from all four, as well as what we think is your best option.

This allows you to fire a payload at your allies to heal them for 35% of their max health, meaning it's really only useful if you intend to play with others. This is a decent choice for a Medic class to grab, but it's far from essential.
This fires a damaging burst through nearby enemies, which can be useful for dealing with packs of foes. However, the early game isn't particularly challenging, so you're better off with a single-target damage option to help you clear bosses.
This shoots a grenade that leaves caltrops on the ground. These will damage and slow any enemies that walk across them, making it a solid option for quick crowd control. Still, it's not quite useful enough to be the best here.
This imbues every shot you take with fire that sets a target ablaze and ticks away at their health for 10 seconds. This makes it immensely useful against the game's bosses, as they'll pose the biggest threat to you in the early game.
Any of the options you choose will provide their own situational uses, but as you can probably guess, Hot Shot is our pick for the best weapon mod to choose first. This mod's damage-over-time effect can speed boss battles up dramatically, which is an especially big help in the opening hours when your healing and mitigation options are so limited. We say bring the heat!

Firestorm is one of the best and worst Weapon Mods in Remnant 2. This mod generates a giant fire tornado that sucks in everything — including you — and completely wipes everything but the toughest boss enemies. This power is so strong you’ll need to respect it. If you’re not careful, the burning cyclone can kill you in an instant. It even tracks, stun locking large enemies, making this a perfect choice for boss fights and exploration.
Dodging is one of the most important skills in Remnant 2 and you can make it even better by combining a secret ring with specific amulets — pairing gear unlocks a special Mist Step dodge that lets you travel further and faster than any other roll. Remnant 2 is packed with weird secrets and mysterious artifacts, and if you’re looking to unlock every little bonus, you’ll want to grab the Ring of Omens.
Remnant II is doing very well for itself. Just yesterday, Gunfire Games and Gearbox Publishing announced that the Soulslike third-person shooter game already sold over a million units, with PC registering over double the first game's concurrent player peak on Steam.
Want to be as tough as you can possibly be in Remnant 2? You’re going to need the Leto Mark 2 Armor Set, a hidden set of armor that is ridiculously heavy but provides the best protection in the entire multiverse. To really make this set viable, you’ll need an accessory to fight back against the extreme encumbrance — there are multiple rings and amulets that can help you with that. Below, we’ll explain how exactly to reach the Leto Mark 2 Armor and how to unlock two accessories that speed up your rolling.
The Labyrinth Staff is one of the more interesting melee weapons in Remnant 2, focusing on generating Mod Power, solid damage but relatively slow attack speed and range. Melee builds also need some additional love in the game, but one of the main reasons for seeking out the Staff is to complete one of the thirteen requirements for the Archon subclass secret quest. We’ll show you exactly what to do to get the Labyrinth Staff and what you need to overcome in this guide.
Some of the best weapons in Remnant 2 can be unlocked right at the start. Others are going to take more work, so we’ve put together a list of the best weapons we’ve found so far. These weapons are great for almost every class, and the right combination of mods can make your weapons absolutely melt bosses. Even if you’re playing solo, these are weapons you need to unlock — and one of the best can be purchased in Ward 13.
The trait system and progression blockers are being fixed.
The school holidays have begun which, predictably means that it’s been raining and drizzling up and down the country. Luckily, we have the technology to deal with the rain – we can sit inside playing video games. This week I’ve been playing loads of multiplayer, first in Exoprimal, and second in Remnant II. I’ve had a whole hell of a good time with them both, though one is clearly superior than the other. Can you guess which one it is? Besides these two, I’ve carried on playing more Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp because… well, it’s Advance Wars.
Remnant II has been referred to as a “looter-shooter” by some, but the amount of weapons and gear you’ll find out in the game’s world is actually pretty limited. That said, there are a few secrets to find, including the Chicago Typewriter. Essentially a version of the classic Tommy gun, this is not only an effective weapon, but likely a fun reference to other games that have had their own Chicago Typewriters, like the Resident Evil series. So, how do you find it? It’s not too tough if you know how. Follow these steps and you’ll be rubbing out dirty rats in no time…
There's only one right answer here.
