Remedy and Rockstar’s Trademark Dispute Has Already Been “Resolved Entirely and Amicably”

Grand Theft Auto 6 or GTA 6 has been shattering records even before its launch. The GTA 6 trailer, which was published on December 4, broke the record for most views in the initial 24-hour period for a non-music video, overtaking the previous record of YouTuber Mr Beast. Although the trailer did not delve into the specifics, it offered a first glimpse into the world of GTA 6, its setting, some gameplay elements and characters. The GTA 6 trailer reveal has only added fuel to the fire and has reignited the GTA 6 community which is now working on creating a potential GTA 6 world map. In the midst of all this, the GTA 6 map might have just been leaked by a Rockstar employee himself!

Some eagle-eyed fans think they saw Tommy Vercetti’s island mansion in the Grand Theft Auto 6 reveal trailer. Even before Rockstar officially gave players a look at Grand Theft Auto 6, there were many rumors that the next entry in the infamous open-world crime series would return to Vice City, which serves as the GTA universe’s version of Miami. Grand Theft Auto 6 will take players to Leonida, the Florida-inspired state that Vice City is located in, and sure enough, an alternate universe version of the troubled town could be seen in the game’s trailer.

After threatening to sue Rockstar for the past couple of months, Lawrence “Florida Joker” Sullivan is now offering to voice the Grand Theft Auto 6 character he claims is based on his infamous 2017 mugshot. The initial Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer was filled with outlandish characters and wild antics, and one of the most notable moments is a brief shot of a tattooed criminal being taken to court. This criminal was quickly compared to Sullivan, who wasted little time accusing Rockstar of stealing his likeness and threatening to take legal action against the developer.

Sony has revealed the most downloaded PlayStation Store games of 2023.

The recently reported trademark dispute between video game giant Take-Two Interactive and renowned developer Remedy Entertainment has already been resolved, the latter claimed. In addition, the studio noted that its working relationship with Take-Two Interactive remains unchanged.

Update - 19/1/24:Speaking to Stephen Totilo over at Game File, a Remedy rep said that the matter had already been sorted out.

For a racing and rallying car organization, there seems to be no better fit than the driving shenanigans and legendary cars of the Grand Theft Auto games, and its video feels like content ripped straight from the games themselves.

Rockstar has announced it's removing Grand Theft Auto Online's clips editor on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from 20th February this year, explaining it's making the move as it approaches the «limits of what's possible» on previous-generation consoles.

As Grand Theft Auto 6's official reveal trailer moves up the charts of the most viewed game trailers on YouTube, an unsuspecting mobile hit still claims the number one spot. Having dropped early last month, the long awaited first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 lit up the internet and finally gave fans of the franchise a glimpse at the breathtaking world of modern Vice City and its surrounding areas.

Remedy Entertainment has said there is “nothing to see” regarding the recent reveal of a trademark dispute with Take-Two Interactive.
