Baldur's Gate 3's third patch made a ton of changes, but not all of them went down well with the playerbase. One of them was a fix for something we didn't even know was a bug - His Majesty being a hairless cat. Turns out, he was always meant to have fur, so the patch added that back in. But fans were so furious that Larian Studios had to U-Turn, shaving His Majesty once more.
Hotfix 8 is out now and restores His Majesty's original, hairless character model. This comes as a great relief to fans, who were horrified to discover that the regal feline had been given such a generic appearance in the last patch. Now, it seems that someone at the Last Light Inn took some scissors to the little guy, because he's back to his original bald glory.

"[We] shaved His Majesty, who is once again a Sphynx," read the notes for the new hotfix. "Steelclaw's eye colour has been adjusted so they are no longer identical twins."
That latter part addresses the initial bug, which caused His Majesty and Steelclaw to share the exact same character model. Now, it's the best of both worlds - they have different models, but His Majesty is hairless once again. I mean, come on, it just suits his character more.
This isn't the only reversal on an unpopular Patch 3 change. The hotfix also stops companions from dumping their inventory into yours when you dismiss them, easily making you over-encumbered. This was meant to help players, as it's easy to leave important plot items in your companions' pack without realising. However, it attracted far more complaints than praise, so Larian seems to have figured that it will just be easier for us to keep track of all the inventories ourselves, rather than forcing this change on us.
These seem to be the only reversals from the third patch, so I'm sorry if you were hoping that horny Gale would be added back in. No, he's finally stopped viewing the player character as a rebound and should wait a little longer before throwing himself at us. He should also stop assuming you're in a relationship with him when you're not, leading to one of the most awkward breakups in gaming history.
Other than that, the update fixes some performance issues, such as multiplayer sessions crashing in certain circumstances. We don't know when the next big patch will be with us, but hopefully, this will go a long way in ensuring everything runs a little smoother. Especially in Act 3, where most of the issues have been reported.
