Fans of the original Red Dead Redemption are calling for one underrated feature of the game's bounty system to return in future iterations of the series. While players can capture other bounties in Red Dead Redemption, there's undoubtedly plenty of fun to be had for players in racking up a bounty of their own, and this feature improves that.
The original Red Dead Redemption remains one of the best Western games of all time, with it and its sequel often used as the benchmark for what a game in this genre should strive to be. Although they're Western games, at their core, they're both Rockstar titles, thriving when the player is encouraged to create chaos within their expansive worlds. Because of this, the systems in place should complement that chaos, and there's one feature that the original Red Dead Redemption got right which its sequel left out.
The clip posted by Redditor ThePhenomenalOne100 shows off the feature, which lists player crimes whenever a bounty is paid off. This particular footage shows off a bounty that includes 93 counts of vandalism, 108 counts of horse slaughter, as well as a staggering 314 counts of murdering an officer of the law, among other crimes. While the feature was present in Red Dead Redemption, it was notably missing from the sequel. However, it's such a small feature that really hits home just how many crimes a player can commit, and allows them to put a solid number to their chaotic ventures.
While most were in agreement, some players in the thread put forward a compelling argument against the feature returning. One player pointed out that seeing hundreds of murder charges be wiped away as if they never happened was massively unrealistic, and immersion-breaking. Immersion is one of the big features of Red Dead Redemption 2, so it's understandable why something that has the potential to remove players from the experience at times was marked for removal in the sequel.
Ultimately, the return of this feature will depend on the potential direction that Rockstar decides to take Red Dead Redemption 3. Everyone is going to have their own opinion, especially given the commitment to immersion with Red Dead Redemption 2 put some players off the title, while for others it was the perfect next step for the series. Hopefully, Rockstar can strike a balance that leaves everyone happy, and that approach may include the return of bounty crime lists.

is widely revered as one of the most engaging and enveloping open-world experiences out there, but not every aspect of the game helps sell the immersion of the world. Although developer Rockstar Games isn't generally prone to imposing arbitrary limitations, with the series representing a gold standard for chaotic and amoral player freedom, does have slightly higher storytelling ideals than the no-holds-barred satire of A well-chosen sacrifice can be worthwhile, and it's easy to see the logic behind one restrictive decision in 's development.

Some eagle-eyed fans think they saw Tommy Vercetti’s island mansion in the Grand Theft Auto 6 reveal trailer. Even before Rockstar officially gave players a look at Grand Theft Auto 6, there were many rumors that the next entry in the infamous open-world crime series would return to Vice City, which serves as the GTA universe’s version of Miami. Grand Theft Auto 6 will take players to Leonida, the Florida-inspired state that Vice City is located in, and sure enough, an alternate universe version of the troubled town could be seen in the game’s trailer.

Some fans think that Starfield should take some inspiration from the Fallout series by introducing floating robots and drones to the game. With the game being set in the year 2330, these fans think that Starfield's futuristic theme would have no issue introducing artificial constructs such as these. Considering that the game is very tech-based, it could add more depth to robot-related gameplay and change up a few mechanics to make Starfield's hypothetical drones even more interesting.
Almost anything can happen in the untamed open world of Red Dead Redemption 2, including Arthur flying through the air like the God of Thunder himself thanks to a strange glitch. Just like Rockstar’s various Grand Theft Auto titles, Red Dead Redemption 2 allows players to distract themselves from the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan to engage in all kinds of entertaining side activities like hunting animals for their pelts and tracking down dangerous criminals for a hefty bounty. This in turn can open the door to wild and unexpected moments, such as one unlucky player being chased off a cliff by an angry bear.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has balanced one of the game's most overpowered attachments in an attempt to nerf it, by giving it one huge downside. It may still be one of the best attachments in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, but there's a reason for players to think twice before using the JAK BFB Muzzle.
