Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released new sales data on Hogwarts Legacy via an interview with Variety. The game has sold over 22 million copies in 2023, adding two million units just in the month of December, according to the publisher. Moreover, according to Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment president David Haddad, it is the best-selling game released last year.

PS5 sales have surpassed 50 million units globally, Sony has today announced.
Sony revealed the impressive sales number for its console through an official press release, mentioning that these numbers refer to actual units sold to consumers instead of shipped units. Interestingly, with the PS5 now hitting this new sales milestone as of December 9th, the console is now tracking on time-aligned sales of the PlayStation 4 worldwide - as mentioned by Eurogamer's Christopher Dring, the PS5 is now tracking only one week behind the PS4 whereas, in July of this year, the console was tracking two months behind the PS4.

“Achieving this PS5 sales milestone is a testament to the unwavering support of the global PlayStation community and their passion for the incredible experiences created by the talented developers from PlayStation Studios and our partners,” said Jim Ryan, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment. “We’re grateful for all of our players who have joined the PS5 journey so far, and we’re thrilled that this is the first holiday season since launch that we have a full supply of PS5 consoles – so anyone who wants to get one can get one.”
After launching in November 2020, Sony's console was hard to come by due to high demand as well as semiconductor shortages, but as confirmed by PlayStation boss Jim Ryan during CES 2023, PS5 was greatly increased and those looking for one should have an easier time finding one. "PS5 supply has improved toward the end of last year, and I'm happy to share that December was the biggest month ever for PS5 console sales and that we have now sold more than 30 million units through to consumers worldwide", the outgoing PlayStation head said during CES 2023. "Everyone who wants a PS5 should have a much easier time finding one at retailers globally, starting from this point forward."
Back in January of this year, Sony reported to have sold over 30 million PS5 units. In July of this year, the company announced it had sold another 10 million consoles.
