Sony has announced the new games coming to the Premium tier of its PlayStation Plus subscription service on February 20, headlined by classic PSP game Resistance: Retribution. One of the main draws of PlayStation Plus's Premium tiers is the ability to play classic games from past PlayStation consoles. Games originally released on PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP are readily available for subscribers to check out.
Out of all the legacy PlayStation systems represented by PS Plus Premium, the PSP seems to get the short-end of the stick a lot of the time. This was evident when PS Plus Premium first launched, though to its credit, Sony has made an effort to improve the PSP selection on PS Plus Premium. There is still a long way to go, but soon subscribers will be able to play what is widely regarded as one of the PSP's best games.
Resistance: Retribution is leading the pack when it comes to the new PS Plus Premium games coming to the service on February 20, 2024. It will be joined by Jet Moto 2, a PS1 racing game that originally released in 1997 and earned mixed reviews, Tales of Symphonia Remastered, and Tales of Vesperia. All four games will be readily available to both PS4 and PS5 gamers with a PS Plus Premium subscription.
In the case of Resistance: Retribution, subscribers can look forward to some enhancements that should make it an even better experience than it was on the PSP back in the day. Resistance: Retribution on PS Plus Premium includes improved visuals, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters for users to tailor the experience to their needs. It hasn't been announced yet if Resistance: Retribution will have PlayStation trophies to unlock, but fans will find out when the game is added to the lineup on February 20.
There are still many PSP games missing from the PS Plus Premium lineup that fans would like to see added to the service, but hopefully that's rectified with future updates. Sony adds to the PS Plus Premium games list every single month, so chances are good that there are plenty more PSP games waiting in the wings.
Of course, PS Plus Premium subscribers are treated to more than just classic games; they also get access to all the PS Plus Extra games as well. Come February 20, PS Plus Premium subscribers have nine games to look forward to with Assassin's Creed Valhalla, LEGO Jurassic World, LEGO Worlds, Need for Speed Unbound, Roguebook, Rogue Lords, Tales of Arise, Tales of Zestiria, and The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition all joining the lineup that day.
