PS Plus has confirmed the new Essential games for April 2024, which include Immortals of Aveum, Minecraft Legends, andSkul: The Hero Slayer. It's worth noting that it's one less game than the PS Plus free games for March 2024, but that's because March was the exception, not the rule.
Right now, PS Plus subscribers can mark a few key dates on their calendars. The new PS Plus games will be added on April 2, meaning fans who haven't yet should be sure to claim March's games ahead of then: EA Sports F1 23, Sifu, Hello Neighbor 2, and Destiny 2: Witch Queen. After that, fans can expect Sony to announce the PS Plus Extra and Premium games on April 10 ahead of their addition on April 16. That basically covers all the major planned PS Plus days for April, but of course, the newest confirmations may be the apples of many eyes right now.
The PS Plus free games for April 2024 are Immortals of Aveum, Minecraft Legends, andSkul: The Hero Slayer. Those who are subscribed to one of the higher tiers, PS Plus Extra and Premium, are also eligible to claim these games, and it's worth noting that each game offers a unique experience compared to the next. Immortals of Aveum is a first-person shooter, one that has struggled since launch, but one with a unique take on the genre. Instead of guns, players equip and utilize different spells in Immortals of Aveum. On the opposite end, Minecraft Legends is more of a sandbox survival game with PvP and PvE qualities.
Perhaps the least recognizable game is Skul: The Hero Slayer. PS Plus is great at supporting indies, andSkul fits into that area as an action rogue-lite 2D platformer. Anyone who enjoys this genre should check the game out, especially because it offers a lot of variety. Across three games, PS Plus is giving fans an FPS, a sandbox experience, and a roguelite platformer.
For now, it remains to be seen what Sony will add for the PS Plus Extra and Premium games for April 2024. However, it seems safe to say that the month is starting off strong, and the higher tiers will likely keep this momentum going.
PS Plus subscribers get a handful of games every month.
Ascendant Studios' Immortals of Aveum is a first-person fantasy shooter revolving around magic spells. Built using Unreal Engine 5, the narrative-driven game blends linear levels with Metroidvania-style areas that allow for a degree of exploration.

Another Thursday means another rotation on the Epic Games Store. As of this writing, fans can no longer claim sci-fi RPG The Outer Worlds or stealth game Thief, but they can grab up cyberpunk action performer Ghostrunner. Between the three is a lot of variety in gameplay styles but also a lot of quality, as each is an excellent game with positive reviews (or a cult following in the case of Thief). Once Ghostrunner rotates out on April 18, fans will be able to claim The Big Con.

PlayStation has officially confirmed Animal Well as a day one game for the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus. While Xbox Game Pass features more day one games on average, PlayStation Plus has added its fair share of day one games over the years as well. In fact, a day one game is coming to the subscription service later this month.
Rely on your wits in Animal Well, slip into a wetsuit with Dave the Diver and journey through mystical 2.5D realms in Tales of Kenzera: Zau. All three games launch onto PlayStation as part of the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. And there are even more games joining April’s Game Catalog lineup. Let’s take a closer look at each. Aside from Animal Well and Tales of Kenzera: Zau, all titles will be available on April 16.
PlayStation Plus gets a lot of attention for its monthly catalog of rotating titles, but the more persistent library accessible through PS+ Extra and Premium is also a crucial part of the membership. Like Xbox Game Pass, this feature makes it possible to get some major releases on day one without making any individual payment, as well as providing an ever-expanding resource to swell backlogs. So far, 2024 has seen notable additions like and theand remakes, making for an increasingly attractive package.

Sony has revealed that not only is Dave the Diver coming to PS Plus Extra on its release date of 16th April 2024, but so too is the upcoming Metroidvania title Tales of Kenzera: ZAU. Launching under the EA Originals banner, the promising indie platformer is coming out on 23rd April 2024 for PS5, and PS Plus Extra members gain access that very same day.

Sony has established many patterns when it comes to its PlayStation Plus announcement, and so many fans were not expecting to learn about any upcoming PS Plus Extra or Premium games for at least another week or so.
