project MASK announced for iOS, Android – Kazuma Kaneko’s new title at COLOPL

SerialProject, a Japanese independent studio formed in 2023 and consisting of just two core members, has announced SerialWorld, a “comedic yet serious RPG” and deckbuilder coming to PC via Steam in 2025. It will support both English and Japanese language options.

FuRyu has announced “Beyblade action” game Beyblade X: XONE for Switch and PC (Steam). It will launch on November 14 in Japan.

Google's annual developers event kickstarted with several new announcements around AI. Sundar Pichai took the stage and showcased how the Gemini AI has evolved over the months and how it will keep advancing in years to come. The keynote included several major announcements with Gemini 1.5 Pro and the AI model being available to Google Workspace across several tools such as Gmail and Google Meet. Montpellier-based developer Studio Cemlia has announced ALZARA: Radiant Echoes, a turn-based RPG inspired by classics like Golden Sun, Persona, Final Fantasy X, and Lost Odyssey. It will be available for consoles and PC via Steam in 2026. A Kickstarter campaign seeking €100,000 in funding is now live.

BEEP has announced side-scrolling shoot ’em up game Cotton Reboot! High Tension!, a sequel to the 2021-released Cotton Reboot!. It will launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch in spring 2025 in Japan. The PlayStation 5 and Switch versions will be available both physically and digitally, while the PlayStation 4 version will be digital-only.

As stated by rumors beforehand, Sega has revealed Sonic Rumble, a new mobile title coming to iOS and Android this Winter. Sign-ups are currently available for a closed beta test, which starts on May 24th and ends on May 26th. Check out the announcement trailer to see how the game plays.

MUTAN has announced four Goonya Monster spin-off games: hopping action game Toad’s Soul Hopper, runner game Pirarucu’s Money Rush, shooting game Snail’s Knock Out, and balance physics puzzle game Octo’s Balloon Challenge. All four titles are planned for release in Early Access for PC via Steam. Release dates were not announced.

SEGA has announced Sonic Rumble, a 32-player battle royale based on the Sonic the Hedgehog series developed in collaboration with Rovio. It will launch for iOS and Android this winter. A closed beta test will run from May 24 to 26. Sign-ups are available now via the official website.

Following last week's leak, Nintendo has officially announced Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, coming to the Switch on Thursday, July 18. Prior to the reveal of Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, the second-half of 2024 was looking incredibly bare for the Switch. In fact, there are only a couple of upcoming Switch exclusive games with confirmed release dates at the time of this writing.

Publisher Armor Games Studios and developer AN Productions have announced Designated Demigod, a turn-based combo RPG coming to PC via Steam. A release date was not announced.

Nintendo has announced Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition for Switch. It will launch on July 18 for $29.99 via Nintendo eShop, and $59.99 as a “Deluxe Set” physical edition.

Ship of Fools developer Fika Productions has announced Don’t Kill Them All, a turn-based strategy and base-building game coming to unspecified consoles and PC via Steam in 2026. A Kickstarter campaign is currently live with a CA$ 100,000 funding goal.
