Apple's AirTag accessory is very capable when it comes to locating lost items. Users have reported on countless occasions how an AirTag managed to find lost luggage. In one instance, the AirTag managed to find a magician's lost bag at the Airport when he was traveling for a show. Now, the Washington, D.C. police advise users to buy an AirTag to protect their Canada Goose jackets in the region.
If you are unfamiliar with Canada Goose jackets, they are popular and cost over $1,000. The jackets feature a "Canada Goose" patch, allowing thieves to quickly identify the brand and target users. While preventing theft is hard, having an AirTag somewhere hidden in the jacket could allow the police to locate the lost jacket later on. The news was shared by Fox5, suggesting that all users are recommended to get an AirTag amid theft concerns.
Fox5 asked the Washington, D.C. police to comment on Canada Goose jacket thefts in the region, and Commander Sylvan Altieri recommended "AirTags." He further adds:
“I’ve seen people use them on tool kits, suitcases, I think that’s probably the best thing you can do as far as if it gets taken, because it’s a nice way to track it."
AirTags have successfully located stolen items, including cars and bikes, helping the police see the thieves' location on a user's iPhone. This is not the first time government officials have recommended AirTags to prevent theft. The accessory has become a primary recommendation by the police as it also helps them locate stolen items and thieves. Government officials have previously distributed AirTags to users in New York amid rising car theft.
