A talented Pokemon fan has thought of a new final evolution for Charcadet. Impressive illustrations of the original design were shared online and received compliments from other fans.
Introduced in the series' ninth generation games, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the Fire-type Charcadet is a pretty rare sight in the region of Paldea as it only has a 1% spawn rate. Despite its small size, Charcadet possesses a fiery fighting spirit that perfectly reflects its element, and it sometimes even battles foes that are stronger than itself. As of Pokemon's current Generation 9 era, Charcadet can evolve into either Armarouge or Ceruledge, but one artist has come up with a third final form.
In a recent post on the Pokemon subreddit, illustrator JJonnie shared their original alternate evolution for Charcadet called Ballisteal the Ranged Archer. A Charcadet evolves into Armarouge or Ceruledge when it is exposed to Auspicious Armor and Malicious Armor, respectively. JJonnie's fan-made design follows the same mechanic, as a female Charcadet will need to equip an original item called Ballistic Armor to evolve into the dual Fire/Steel-type Ballisteal. Considering both Armarouge and Ceruledge are regarded as some of the best Generation 9 Pokemon, Ballisteal would most likely join their ranks should the original design ever make it to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
The addition of another final form for Charcadet would likely require a new game to be released in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet series. Auspicious Armor is exclusive to Pokemon Scarlet, while Malicious Armor can only be acquired in Pokemon Violet. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet could take the same route as Pokemon Black and White, which were followed by direct sequels that introduced new forms for the Legendary Pokemon Kyurem.
The Pokemon Black and White games, as well as their direct sequels, Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, are often lauded by critics as being among the best games in the entire Pokemon series, so Pokemon Scarlet and Violet could benefit from receiving the same treatment as the titles' predecessors. A new Pokemon game could come out in late 2024, which is also when the rumored successor to the Nintendo Switch, the so-called Switch 2, is expected to launch at the earliest.
Community members praised JJonnie's work, with many complimenting the artist's impressive illustrations of Ballisteal that would not have a hard time passing as official Pokemon media. Charcadet and its evolved forms are very popular among fans, and many artists have created fan art depicting the entire line. For example, one artist previously drew Charcadet, Armarouge, and Ceruledge in the style of Paper Mario. Another fan made a Paradox Pokemon by fusing Armarouge and Ceruledge into a
