Some hotfixes have applied some ability tuning to the Plunderstorm Battle Royale which includes a nerf to Fire Whirl.

Plunderstorm Hotfixes
Here are the Plunderstorm tuning hotfixes for March 21st.
- Fire Whirl
All Ranks: While active, players move 70% faster (was 140%)
Toxic Smackerel
- Rank 1: Now a 5.5 sec cooldown (was 7 sec)
- Rank 2: Now a 5 sec cooldown (was 6 sec)
- Rank 3: Now a 4.5 sec cooldown (was 5 sec)
Star Bomb
- All Ranks: Cast time reduced to 2 sec (was 2.25 sec)
The buffs to the underused abilities are definitely nice.
The change to Fire Whirl will bring it down a peg, but it still does an amazing amount of damage if you manage to spin on top of enemies. It still functions as a movement ability just not as good of one, so you'll definitely want to set up the person in a Crowd Control ability now before you use Fire Whirl and if you manage to do that you'll still delete their health bar. If you were previously using Fire Whirl in the open on freely mobile targets, this will definitely hurt your game slightly. If you were using Fire Whirl as a kill spell on CC'ed targets, this should change nothing for you.
