Pikmin 4 defends No.1 spot from Armored Core 6 | Japan Monthly Charts

The version 1.4 update for Honkai: Star Rail, dubbed “Jolted Awake From a Winter Dream,” will launch on October 11 alongside the release of the PlayStation 5 version, developer miHoYo announced.

There’s been a lot of talk about Phil Spencer and Xbox lately due to the leaked email issue that flooded the news channels last week. The brand and Microsoft were put under the spotlight in the worst way because of past statements that were made public by accident because of the FTC court battle they won. But even with those issues, Spencer is still taking time to build up the Xbox brand and assure gamers that big things are coming. Hideki Kamiya is leaving Platinum Games next month. Kamiya co-founded the Osaka, Japan-based studio in 2006 and later went on to direct games like Bayonetta and The Wonderful 101. His final day at Platinum will be October 12, according to both a statement released by the studio and Kamiya on his personal Twitter account. 

A decade after Pikmin 3, the franchise finally received a follow-up this year in the form of Pikmin 4. Serving as a soft reboot for the series, Pikmin 4 brings back the franchise’s classic gameplay with a few new twists, such as the inclusion of Oatchi the pup.

During Nintendo’s recent direct we got a brand new trailer for the upcoming remake of their classic SNES title Super Mario RPG. With that we learned that there would be one giant major inclusion in the way of boss refights- something that was not at all available in the original as the SNES classic had no postgame whatsoever. While any other details on post-game content remain unknown, Famitsu’s recent screenshot upload shared more details than fans could have ever expected. From this wide variety of screenshots we’ve actually learned of three brand new inclusions to the upcoming remake, all of which will be quite fantastic inclusions for new and returning fans alike! It’s already well documented that the title is getting a major face lift and that shows very clearly as well in these screenshots, but for the time being we’ll focus strictly on the new features available to players.

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon may have launched globally, yet that hasn't stopped developer FromSoftware from rolling out lots of new improvements via its latest update.

FromSoftware is still struggling to lock its games to 60 frames-per-second, it seems. Pikmin 4 had been consistently topping weekly Japanese physical software sales charts since its launch in July, before being dethroned last week courtesy of Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon’s impressive debut. This week, however, the Switch title has once again retaken the top spot, as per data released by Famitsu, with over 34,000 units sold.

September may have just started, but the holiday season is already fast approaching, with plenty of eager shoppers looking to find the next great gift for their game-adoring friends or family members.

There’s little doubt that the Pikmin franchise is going through a kind of boom right now. The mobile game is still popular with those who play it, and it’s possibly even more popular now, thanks to the release of Pikmin 4. The game for the Switch has been a long time coming, and the results, though incomplete, have shown that gamers are really digging what Nintendo did with the fourth entry. However, if you thought Nintendo would stop there, you are mistaken, for they secretly launched a browser called Pikmin Finder, where you can continue searching for more flowery friends.
