Legacy, the upcoming blockchain business sim from Fable creator Peter Molyneux, is set to release next month, on 26th October.
According to the game's publisher Gala Games, which specialises in this blockchain/Web3 business, Legacy's upcoming launch is «more than just a game release». In its words, this is «the beginning of an extraordinary journey where creativity, strategy, and business innovation meet».
As someone who remains more than a touch sceptical about blockchain, I feel this remains to be seen.
When Legacy was announced back in 2021, Molyneux described the game as «a creative entrepreneur's dream come true». Players will be able to own a «Land NFT» and this will then mean you will be able to «start your own in-game blockchain business association».
There will also be access to Legacy Keys that can be lent to others to start an in-game business and become partners. Profits of the game's Cryptocurrency LegacyCoin will then be shared.
Back in December 2021, it was said that Legacy had already raked in around $53m (£40m).
With the option to purchase imaginary land in the game, Legacy's most expensive land plot, «London», went for $900k. Of course, that was almost two years ago, when Blockchain was a bit of a buzz word in the industry and many others were also jumping aboard the somewhat controversial trend train.
Legacy builders, we have a release date… October 26th!

The Fable series wasn't afraid to take some creative risks, as its devs were dead set on making the game that they wanted to make, and rarely compromised on their vision. However, they couldn't get everything they wanted, and tragically, nipples were just a step too far for Microsoft.
Inescapable: No Rules, No Rescue is a murder-themed visual novel in the style of Danganronpa, with anime teens forced to participate as contestants in a twisted reality TV show. We now have a release date, so try not to get voted off the island when Inescapable launches on PS5 and PS4 on 19th October.
Fable co-creator Peter Molyneux has been hard at work on a brand new game, after revealing last month that it's currently in development under the name Project MOAT. He's keeping pretty quiet about what the game is or what we can expect from it, most likely as a precaution after his overpromising days, but has now managed to confuse everyone by revealing the game will be set in a land called Albion, though seemingly not the one from the Fable series.
Peter Molyneux is returning to game development, and the Fable series, with a new title currently named Project MOAT. On X, the longtime game designer/director revealed the upcoming game would be set in Albion, the primary setting of the Fable games.
Peter Molyneux is legendary for a lot of things, many of them not good, but arguably his most notable credit is his role in creating the legendary RPG series Fable. Now he's working on a brand-new game "set in the land of Albion," and fans are coming unglued trying to figure out whether or not that's a reference to Fable's Albion.
Peter Molyneux's next game will be set in Albion, the setting of the Fable series. Molyneux was, of course, a designer on Fable, Fable 2, and Fable 3 before he left the series' original developer Lionhead Studios.
Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery — which bundles together all three entries in developer Worm Club's endearingly silly sleuthing series — will be launching for PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox (including Game Pass) on 27th October.

We finally have a release date for American Arcadia: 15th November on PC (via Steam). So, if you are anything like me and rather looking forward to this release, thankfully there is not too much longer to wait.
It feels like forever ago that For the King 2 — the sequel to IronOak Games' wonderful tabletop-RPG-meets-digital-board-game adventure — was announced (it was actually about 18 months ago, it turns out), but it finally has a release date and is coming to Steam on 2nd November.
Developer Kumi Souls Games announced its gothic Soulslike metroidvania, The Last Faith, years ago, and last summer, we got a new trailer that indulged in the game's pixelated violence. We knew the game was coming late this year, but now it's official: The Last Faith hits PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on November 15.
