Palworld has made its name by allowing players to do a lot of things Pokemon would never let you do, but there’s one core Pokemon features it doesn’t have – the ability to take on others in PvP battles. Well, it seems that’s going to change, as during today’s Triple-I Initiative showcase, we got a first peek at the “Pal Arena” PvP mode, coming sometime in 2024.
We don’t have a ton of details on the Pal Arena mode yet, but here’s how Palworld developer Pocket Pair describes what they’re working on…

“The Pal Arena makes its way to Palworld in 2024. Battle against other players, pitting both yourself and your pals against them. Train the strongest Pals and defeat all your rivals.”
So yes, not only will your Pals be able to take each other on, you’ll be able to take up arms and tackle the arena yourself. Pokemon would certainly be a heck of a lot different if Ash could just bust out a shotgun and go to town when he thinks a battle isn’t going his way. The teaser also shows side-by-side action, which might just be something they’ve done for the trailer, but splitscreen multiplayer would be a cool feature, so let’s hope it’s in.
Palworld has sold over 25 million copies, and recently updated to add its first raid boss. Wccftech’s Ule Lopez put quite a few hours into the game, and found it to be a fun survival game despite its rather shameless swiping from Pokemon…
“Palworld is a neat survival game that only feels like it borrows the Pokemon aesthetic. The game is a fun venture, especially with multiple players as they share your adventure with you. […] While this game already offered an experience that at least provided me and my friends with over 30 hours of fun, there will be stuff that will make the game even more fun. It only makes me excited to see what the game will have to offer in the near future.”
Palworld can be played on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Palworld has been on one a hell of a run since launching earlier this year, breaking records and generating plenty of conversation, and developer Pocket Pair has been busy teasing new content. The most recent of these teases came during today’s ID@Xbox indie showcase, which gave us a peek at what we can expect from the game’s big summer update. The teaser showed off four new Pokemon-esque Pals, as well as a flamethrower weapon. There’s sure to be a lot more included in the update, but this gave us a nice taste of what kind of things are being focused on. Check out the teaser for yourself, below.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Warzone recently dropped their Season 3 update, which introduced a half-dozen MP maps, brought back Rebirth Island, let you play as Cheech and Chong (yes, really) and more. This refresh will include a couple more MP maps, modes, another Zombies story missions, NBA star Devin Booker as a operator, and more. You can get more details, below.
Prior to release, all indications were that Stellar Blade would be an unusually technically polished current-gen launch, with the game’s demo leaving many impressed. But, of course, demos aren’t always indicative of the final game, with devs sometimes taking a thin slice of gameplay and give it more polish than the rest of the game. Well, the review embargo for Stellar Blade has arrived, and it seems it’s not only a good time in terms of action (check out Wccftech’s positive review here) but according to the tech heads at Digital Foundry, the full game is every bit as technically sound as the demo. You can check out Digital Foundry’s full video analysis below, provided you have around 20 minutes to spare, or you can scroll down for our rundown of the salient points.
Fallout London's developer, Team FOLON, was supposed to be celebrating the long-anticipated launch of its fan game today. However, with Fallout 4's current-gen update just days away from going live, that isn't possible, and the game has been pushed back until fixes are made.
Final Fantasy XVI: The Rising Tide story expansion is out now, and as you’d expect, it includes some new gear, including the best weapons in the game thus far. One of these is the Tonberry Knife, which isn’t the most powerful in the game in terms of raw damage, but is the most best in terms of inflicting “Will” or stagger damage. For those familiar with FF16’s combat system, staggering enemies frequently is arguably more important than just dealing raw damage, so you’re going to want to get your hands on the Tonberry Knife. Here’s how to do so…
While Atlus has largely become synonymous with the Persona and Shin Megami Tensei series, their next big RPG is actually a new IP – Metaphor: ReFantazio. Developed by a team led by many of the minds that created Persona 3 through Persona 5, Metaphor looks to expand that trademark Atlus RPG style with a more expansive dark fantasy world. Well, today Atlus announced Metaphor: ReFantazio will be launching in October of this year. You can check out a fresh trailer for the game, below.
Final Fantasy XVI is no small game, but for those who want more, Square Enix has also rolled out a pair of story expansions for the RPG – last year’s Echoes of the Fallen, and the just-released The Rising Tide. But how does one play this new DLC? It isn’t a simple matter of just hopping into the new content from the main menu, there are some pre-requisites. Also, how leveled up should your party be before you take on this new challenge? Don’t worry, we have the answers for you…
