And yet now here we are, with the latest trailer for the game being called a “reveal Trailer” despite already being revealed and Geoff Keighley calling it a world premiere. What was up?

It’s that time of year again. The annual Gamescom trade fair opens its doors today, but you don’t have to be in Germany to participate in the reveals and updates. All of the good stuff is being streamed live, beginning with the opening night event, hosted by Game Awards guru and former Spike TV personality Geoff Keighley. For those of us far from Europe, the event starts streaming at 2PM ET. Watch it right here.

Last year, The Game Awards delivered several memorable moments, including the first look at The Super Mario Bros. Movie, as well as several celebrity appearances and a ton of major reveals in the world of gaming en route to attracting 103 million global viewers. This year looks to be no different, as the 10th annual The Game Awards arrives at the Peacock Theater (formerly Microsoft Theater) in Los Angeles, California, on Thursday, December 7, 2023.

Tekken 8's release date has leaked hours before Opening Night Live at Gamescom 2023, and it's supposedly due January 2024. 

The Game Awards has grown enormously and has become a much-awaited annual year-end celebration for video game fans around the world since it first took place in 2014. If you're looking forward to watching it this year, you can now fire up your calendars and add a reminder: The 10th annual show is scheduled to stream live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on December 7th, 2023. Gamescom 2023 will be kicking off today, and Geoff Keighley is the host. He recently hopped on Twitter to reveal that Zack Snyder will be promoting the upcoming epic space opera, Rebel Moon. The Snyder-directed film will be available on December 22, though that’s not the only thing he’ll be promoting, as Keighley also stated that the director has a “special announcement” in store.

German convention Gamescom is just days away, but there’s still strong speculation about what will be on display at the show. Black Myth: Wukong, a previously announced “next-gen” action RPG from Chinese developer Game Science, is one such title setting tongues wagging; according to Insider Gaming sources, it’ll have a “heavy presence” at the Cologne event.

At this point, a release date is really all that Tekken 8 is missing.
