Overwatch 2’s next hero, Illari, revealed

This year is shaping up to have a killer line-up of fighting games between the launches of Mortal Kombat 1 and Street Fighter 6, but unfortunately, Tekken 8 won’t be completing the holy trinity as it just got a new release date: January 26th 2024. Not too far away from 2023’s punch-a-thon, though, and to tide us over, publisher Bandai Namco dropped a brand new trailer at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live. Over the past few weeks, we've seen rumors about the next-generation Apple Silicon chipset, the M3, and which devices could get it. Reports claim that Apple is planning to introduce the M3 SoC starting with the next iMac, 13-inch MacBook Air, and 13-inch MacBook Pro and these devices could come out as soon as October. While we know a bit about the devices, there has been little to no information about the different variants of the M3 chipset.

The Invasion is ongoing in Overwatch 2, with players in the hero shooter taking on the forces of Null Sector in new story missions (assuming they paid the $15). For everyone involved in PvP, there’s a new hero in town – Illari, the last Child of the Sun. A new Origin Story is available, highlighting her tragic past. Check it out below.

Overwatch 2’s latest season, Invasion, is now live and marks the title’s exit from “early access” (Blizzard’s words, not mine). Along with three PvE story missions, it features the new Flashpoint PvP mode, a new Premium Battle Pass, a limited-time PvE event, and Illari, the latest Support hero. Invasion offers up a trio of PvE story missions (which are being sold at a $15 premium price tag), the support Hero Illari, the new Flashpoint mode, Hero Mastery missions, Hero Progression system, and more.

Overwatch 2 season 6 starts Aug. 10, bringing a new support hero, new maps, and the long-awaited arrival of new story content for Blizzard’s free-to-play hero shooter. It’s a big content drop, with some of it free, and some of it requiring a purchase.

A new hero comes to Overwatch 2 with season 6: Illari, the game’s new support class character who hails from Peru and uses solar-powered abilities. She’s the 10th support class character, and she brings a straightforward kit of abilities to the Overwatch roster. Illari’s kit has a low skill ceiling that should be great for Overwatch 2 newcomers, or existing players who want to try out a healer.

Blizzard Entertainment’s latest trailer for Overwatch 2 Season 6: Invasion went live earlier this week and finally showcased Illari, the next Support hero. It also tweeted a roadmap for upcoming content, confirming that the previously delayed Hero Mastery would arrive on September 5th.
