The big Overwatch 2: Invasion season kicks off in just a couple days, and Blizzard has dropped a new overview trailer, providing a peek at some new features they haven’t detailed publicly yet. The big reveal is Illari, the game’s new sun-themed Peruvian support hero. We see her bringing the fight aggressively with a large rifle and a sun-powered ability that seems to propel her into the air, but, again, she’s a support hero, so we know some healing abilities are also part of her kit. Look for more info on her when Invasion launches in a couple of days. For now, you can check out the new Overwatch 2: Invasion trailer, below.
In addition to Illari, Blizzard also shows off a few other things. Flashpoint is the series’ first new core game mode since the somewhat divisive Push introduced alongside Overwatch 2, and promises larger battles on custom-designed maps. Meanwhile, Blizzard is also adding the new Hero Mastery single-player missions that will test your abilities with individual characters. Of course, you can also expect new PvP maps and the usual array of battle pass and paid cosmetic content.
This is all on top of the new Overwatch 2: Invasion PvE story missions, which are being sold separately for $15. These new missions will be set on their own custom-built maps and offer new story content and unique challenges. As the title implies, Invasion sees Null Sector, the militant Omnic liberation group led by Ramattra, launching a full-on attack on multiple fronts, but, of course, there’s probably more going on here than meets the eye. You can check out a trailer for the Invasion PvE missions here.
Overwatch 2: Invasion comes as Blizzard struggles to turn around the game’s declining engagement numbers and the Overwatch League looks to be on its last legs. Will Invasion be the shot in the arm the game needs? That remains to be seen, but there’s no denying it looks like a pretty solid update.
Overwatch 2 can be played on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5. The Invasion season kicks off on August 10.

NVIDIA has teamed up with Remedy Entertainment to give away a unique and rare Alan Wake II-inspired GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card.
What can I tell you? Today is going to be a day of grifting great bargains and girding one's butt-cheeks (during the Matilda's semi-final attempt this evening). Pick of the litter as of now has got to be the ludicrously low price of LEGO Skywalker Saga on Switch. I'm also all about cheap thrills with Resi 2 Deluxe, Sifu Vengeance Edition, and a pretty magical price on Hogwarts Legacy.
The Invasion is ongoing in Overwatch 2, with players in the hero shooter taking on the forces of Null Sector in new story missions (assuming they paid the $15). For everyone involved in PvP, there’s a new hero in town – Illari, the last Child of the Sun. A new Origin Story is available, highlighting her tragic past. Check it out below.
Overwatch 2’s latest season, Invasion, is now live and marks the title’s exit from “early access” (Blizzard’s words, not mine). Along with three PvE story missions, it features the new Flashpoint PvP mode, a new Premium Battle Pass, a limited-time PvE event, and Illari, the latest Support hero. Check out her abilities in the trailer below.
Overwatch 2's largest update ever, Season 6: Invasion, is now live, featuring the new Support hero Illari, Flashpoint, and sweeping balance changes.
Overwatch 2: Invasion, Blizzard’s biggest update yet for the free-to-play game, launches... right now (the content should have unlocked within the last hour) but before you jump in, here’s some final info about the update. Invasion offers up a trio of PvE story missions (which are being sold at a $15 premium price tag), the support Hero Illari, the new Flashpoint mode, Hero Mastery missions, Hero Progression system, and more.
Overwatch 2: Invasion is here, and packed with a new hero, a new seasonal Battle Pass, and a new core PvP game mode. We’re also bringing new Invasion Story Missions, a limited-time Co-op Event, and new ways to practice and celebrate your achievements with your favorite heroes. Let’s check out everything that you can expect in the new update!
Overwatch 2: Invasion is out now August 10th on all platforms including, for the first time, Steam. Invasion brings in Story Missions, new Support Hero, new game mode Flashpoint, and more. Here’s everything you need to know about the Invasion season update in Overwatch 2.
Overwatch 2 season 6 starts Aug. 10, bringing a new support hero, new maps, and the long-awaited arrival of new story content for Blizzard’s free-to-play hero shooter. It’s a big content drop, with some of it free, and some of it requiring a purchase.
A new hero comes to Overwatch 2 with season 6: Illari, the game’s new support class character who hails from Peru and uses solar-powered abilities. She’s the 10th support class character, and she brings a straightforward kit of abilities to the Overwatch roster. Illari’s kit has a low skill ceiling that should be great for Overwatch 2 newcomers, or existing players who want to try out a healer.
A special new update is coming this month for Inkbound . Shiny Shoe’s Early Access tactical roguelike will get the Starship of Terrors update, which includes the new Star Captain class, new quests and enemies, and a new starship book to explore.
