Overwatch 2 fans think that the upcoming Revenant skin in Apex Legends is allegedly ripping off the Cyber Demon Genji skin. Overwatch 2 features a wide range of skins for each hero, which show off unique designs that give them more personality.
Since the first Overwatch, Genji has been a popular choice among Damage mains because of his agile wall-climbing ability. He's also had some iconic skins, such as the Genos skin from the Overwatch 2 x One Punch Man collaboration, and the colorful Cyber Demon Genji mythic skin, which is also one of the most recognizable skins in the game.
Recently, Apex Legends has been experiencing some leaks related to the upcoming Season 21, including a new character named Alter. The latest datamined leak is Revenant's new Epic skin, which is a vibrant Japanese-inspired design with dragon and sakura details. Many Overwatch 2 fans were quick to point out that the upcoming Revenant skin is allegedly a rip-off of Cyber Demon Genji skin, which also has Japanese-inspired details.

Apex Legends' upcoming Epic Revenant skin
Reportedly dropping in May
Overwatch 2 fans highlighted that both Cyber Demon Genji and the new Revenant skin have the same color scheme and placement of certain details, particularly the sakura blossoms on their chest plates and the neon dragon scales on their arms. Although many Apex Legends fans are excited about the upcoming Epic skin, a number of them also couldn't help but notice the similarities to Cyber Demon Genji, even expressing their disappointment over Respawn allegedly making a 1:1 copy.
Since Revenant's Epic skin was leaked, Respawn has not issued a statement yet addressing the accusations being hurled towards them by the Overwatch 2 and Apex Legends communities. Respawn is already facing criticism for allegedly not implementing a secure anti-cheat system following the hacking incident during a major Apex Legends tournament, so being accused of copying an Overwatch 2 skin could add more problems for the developer. Of course, there's always a possibility that the upcoming Revenant skin could still be changed before Apex Legends Season 21 drops in May.
This isn't the first time Apex Legends was accused of allegedly copying a skin from another popular game. A couple of years back, gamers pointed out that Apex Legends' Wyrmborn gun skin looked too similar to Valorant's Elderflame gun skin because of the realistic dragon design.
Overwatch 2 is Blizzard's free-to-play team-based first-person shooter. The title features some new heroes like Junker Queen and Sojourn, as well as returning favorites.
