The new Urban Assault Collection Event has been revealed for Apex Legends, promising players a plethora of new content to enjoy and items to unlock. Respawn Entertainment officially unveiled the new Apex Legends event, showing off the return of a popular limited-time game mode and the grand reveal of a new tournament mode for players to test their skills called Apex Rumble. Players will compete against each other in an attempt to climb the leaderboards and snag exclusive cosmetics and items.
Thanks to constant content updates and helpful quality-of-life improvements, Respawn Entertainment's Apex Legends has successfully maintained its popularity within the battle royale genre. The game differs majorly from other popular battle royales by leaning into the hero-shooter genre, with Apex Legends featuring a wide range of characters called Legends, all of which each offer their own unique playstyles and mechanics.
Now, Respawn is asking players to «gear up» for the release of the new Urban Assault Collection Event, which will bring back Apex Legends' popular Three Strikes LTD and introduce a brand new in-game tournament system. This new system is called Apex Rumble, and players can enter the fray in an attempt to unlock special rewards. A total of 24 limited-time items will be offered during this event, with players who unlock every item receiving Octane's Prestige Skin «Apex Riptide.»
Prestige skins are notorious in Apex Legends, being one of the most valuable cosmetics in the game, and will undoubtedly make the new mode incredibly popular. This all-new asynchronous tournament system allows players to face off against similarly skilled competitors in an attempt to climb the leaderboards. Players earn points for their placements, kills, assists, and overall damage. Rewards will be delivered once Apex Rumble has concluded, based on players' overall placement. Apex Legends is advertising this as a «whole new way» to play the game.
In conjunction with this new tournament mode, players can also enjoy a revamped version of Apex Legends' highly popular Three Strikes. Revive time is reduced by 2.0s, and players are revived with max health and zero shields. This mode also launches with a new minimum guaranteed loot system, ensuring players spawn with «competitive» versions of their loadout. Three Strikes features quicker gameplay than regular Apex Legends matches, and players are eliminated only when their entire squad is wiped out.
