Original Zombies creator Treyarch is back for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

The iconic real-time tactics series is returning with Commandos: Origins, coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2024. The game will also be coming to Xbox Game Pass.

When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare comes up, many players’ minds immediately jump to 00’s memories of lobbying up with close friends. For Modern Warfare III, developers Sledgehammer, Treyarch, Infinity Ward, and Raven Software come together to deliver an updated FPS experience with all the illustrious nostalgic magic we remember, but with enough innovative features to make it feel new.

There is a long-running partnership between PlayStation and Activision. For years, We’ve seen PlayStation receive exclusive content or early access to Call of Duty games. That is going to end when Microsoft acquires Activision Blizzard. However, since that deal is not completed just yet, there is an exclusive pack coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles. Thanks to a report from VGC, we’re finding out about the Lockpick Operator Pack.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is dropping in November and before that, Activision has unveiled a brand-new map coming to its battle-royale counterpart. Dubbed ‘Urzikstan,' the large-scale metropolis will be available in Warzone 2.0, sometime in December, as part of season 1 content. The region was first featured in the reimagined 2019 MW game and is playable on the endless respawn-enabled Plunder mode, as well. Set on the eastern border of the Black Sea, this map comes with 11 unique points of interest, peppered with horizontal ziplines and drivable trains for better traversal.

Call of Duty’s exclusive marketing deal with PlayStation sees it getting some exclusive content on Sony’s consoles every year, and Activision has now revealed one piece of that for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3– Elodie “Lockpick” Micheaux, a new Operator.

Zombies is going open world in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, as multiple squads cooperate in a PvE environment to take on the undead. Activision released a new trailer showcasing the mode’s various mechanics, but other details are available courtesy of a new blog post.

The Call of Duty franchise is promising some intriguing changes to its formula with the upcoming Modern Warfare 3. Some of those changes will take the form of Open Missions in the single player campaign, but the most radical departure in the game is looking like its Zombies mode, which will be fully open world this time.

Publisher Activision and developer Sledgehammer Games have released a new set of trailers and screenshots for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III during today’s Call of Duty: NEXT event, including the reveal of “Zombies.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III arrives in a bit over a month, and Activision has fully unveiled the game’s entire multiplayer suite. Earlier this week we got a peek at the game’s traditional 6v6 multiplayer maps, and during today's big CODNext presentation, we got new details on Zombies, the Cutthroat 3v3v3 mode, new Warzone map, and more.

Call of Duty fans are getting another thrilling installment release next month. With the game installment coming, we know that we’re going to be sticking around with the Modern Warfare series a little while longer. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is coming in November, and with it, we’ll get a new zombie game mode to enjoy. This will also mark the first instance where we’ll get a zombies game mode in a Modern Warfare series. However, this iteration of the popular game mode will be quite a bit different as we’ll have an open-world experience. 

Activision showed off multiplayer gameplay for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, the new premium combat game coming on November 10.
