A new Zonai Device build in can easily match the function of Skyview Towers. Although some Zonai Devices can seem worthless in , others can be combined to great effect. The technology of the Zonai is crucial to Link’s quest in the game, but the simple application of experimentation and creativity can lead to ever-more impressive creations being produced and shared.
The Skyview Towers are essentially a newer version of the Sheikah Towers from, although they are also cruder in their own way. Instead of simply delivering map data to the Sheikah Pad, using a Skyview Tower is a potentially deadly experience; Purah’s enormous creations launch Link into the sky to survey the land below, necessitating a paraglider (or a convenient pool of water) to survive the endeavor. Of course, beyond uncovering new sections of the game map, the Skyview Towers also offer access to nearby Sky Islands, and Link can also use them to glide long distances across the surface of Hyrule as well.

However, a new build using Zonai devices has now effectively rendered the Skyview Towers obsolete when it comes to reaching the highest parts of ’s world. YouTuber JoeDun has demonstrated in a short video that placing a Hover Stone diagonally on top of a Stake and then carefully attaching several Springs creates an incredible launchpad. Triggering the springs sends Link high into the air, replicating the function of Skyview Towers perfectly. Of course, there are many ways to gain altitude quickly in, including what is effectively an improved version of perhaps ’s best Champion Ability, but JoeDun’s design brings things to a new level of effectiveness.
Without question, the biggest advantage of this build is that it can be used anywhere. Skyview Towers are fixed landmarks, and so reaching certain parts of the map by gliding from them can be time-consuming, or even impossible. Similarly, other height-gaining options like hot air balloons are often time-consuming to use. JoeDun’s new launcher resolves this problem neatly, allowing a Skyview Tower’s launching effect to be achieved anywhere at any time. Assuming that the design is saved via Autobuild, Link will never be without a way to shoot himself high into the sky, which means in turn that exploring the full extent of Hyrule has now become far easier.

It is always impressive how new applications for Zonai Devices are constantly being discovered in . JoeDun’s Spring-based launcher is undoubtedly an excellent addition to anybody’s Autobuild catalog, being immensely effective at what it does. With
