Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for September 2023? | Push Square

Uh oh, we've got a bad feeling about this one. Each month, we ask you lot for your thoughts on the latest PS Plus announcements, and we can't wait to hear what you think of September's reveal. We say that because Sony seems to have riled up a lot of PlayStation fans over the last few days, as it unveiled a questionable PS Plus Essential games line-up alongside price hikes for every PS Plus tier. A recipe for disaster, to say the least.

PS5, PS4 Owners Are Understandably Irate with PS Plus Price Hike | Push Square

We’ve known for quite some time that Sony, in its current guise, doesn’t care much for its core consumers – but overnight, it proved it. The platform holder nonchalantly announced price hikes to the annual tiers of its various PS Plus subscriptions – and these are significant jumps, not just minor alterations.

Starfield's speedrunners are cooking already with a sub-3 hour run, teleporting punches, and cramming NPCs into filing cabinets

As reported by VG247, Starfield already has a routed speedrun under three hours—which is terrifying, since it's not even out of its early access period yet. Heck, widely-used leaderboard website speedrun.com doesn't even open its rankings until September 20, presumably so people can actually play the thing without sweating over skips.

Bethesda says most of Starfield's 1000+ planets are dull on purpose because 'When the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there' but 'they certainly weren't bored'

Space is big and, for the most part, kind of dull. The heady thrill of setting foot on planets no human has ever seen aside, most of the celestial bodies in our universe are just big, complicated rocks when you get right down to it. For better or worse, that's a part of reality that Starfield deliberately tries to capture, according to a recent NYT interview (via VG247) with Ashley Cheng, Bethesda's managing director, and Todd Howard, who is Todd Howard.

Bethesda commissioned an official Starfield song from Imagine Dragons and if you guessed that it rhymes 'high' with 'sky,' you are correct

In the never-ending quest for more eyeballs on its stuff, Bethesda Softworks has enlisted the talents of award-winning pop-rock group Imagine Dragons to create a song for Starfield called Children of the Sky. It's not the worst collaboration between a game studio and mainstream musician I've ever heard, but that's at least in part because I'm old enough to have a clear recollection of something called Hope For the Future.
