It looks like support for the Nintendo Switch probably won't be ending even after its successor hits store shelves, according to the company's latest financial briefing.

The Nintendo Switch is still going strong for the company since launching in March 2017, but rumors about a potential successor have been mounting (more so than usual). Insider NateTheHate has reported on it before and how it would have an 8-inch screen with a launch sometime in September or October 2024 (though another insider, SoldierDelta, says November is possible as a backup).
In a recent podcast with MVG, he reported that the console uses Ray Reconstruction, which would explain why the rumored The Matrix Awakens demo behind closed doors at Gamescom impressed so many. However, he adds that the quality depends on the denoisers used and whether the games leverage the technology.
Though some rumors indicated that Nvidia DLSS 3.1 was used in the demo, he heard that it was DLSS 3.5, but it may not be as “feature complete” as on PC. Frame generation is allegedly one of the features not included, but it should still have much of the “current-day technology” thanks to the custom feature set.
The Nintendo Switch 2 will reportedly launch with two SKUs – a Standard Edition for $449 and an all-digital option for $399. Stay tuned for official announcements in the coming year.

In its second quarter fiscal year 2024 financial results, Nintendo provided updated figures for Nintendo Switch Online and Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers.
