Nintendo Reveals File Sizes for 2 Upcoming Switch Exclusives

Publisher Spike Chunsoft and developer MAGES. will release romance visual novels The Quintessential Quintuplets: Memories of a Quintessential Summer and The Quintessential Quintuplets: Five Memories Spent With You digitally for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on May 23 in the west for $34.99 each, the companies announced. A “Double Pack” containing both games will also be available for $59.99.

Singapore-based publisher Soft Source Publishing and developers Digital Happiness and MassHive Media have announced DreadOut Remastered Collection for PlayStation 5 and Switch. It includes the original DreadOut and the new standalone game DreadOut: Keepers of the Dark. It will launch both physically and digitally in 2024 in Asia.

Nintendo have announced that this June will see the end of integration of X, formerly Twitter, on Nintendo Switch. They have supported the platform much longer than the rival consoles, Xbox lost Twitter in April 2023  with PlayStation following suit in November of the same year. 

Tears of the Kingdom celebrates its first anniversary this weekend. A game so many of us spent such a massive amount of time with, it's hard to believe it has only been in our lives for a year. Its creators have already confirmed that it won't be getting any expansions, so don't go expecting a bombshell u-turn this weekend. There has been a Tears of the Kingdom birthday announcement, though. Nintendo has revealed it will be releasing a physical version of the sequel's soundtrack, a 464-page Master Works, and best of all, a replica of its Master Sword.

Nintendo confirmed its forecast for consoles sold during the remainder of the fiscal year did not include Switch2 sales, suggesting its next console will launch later than fans had hoped. Since its ongoing development was leaked, fans have been desperately awaiting more news regarding the release date for the successor to the beloved Switch gaming console. Following last week's leak, Nintendo has officially announced Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, coming to the Switch on Thursday, July 18. A newly filed patent highlights an interesting detail about how the Nintendo Switch charges its three controller components to ensure that they all have an equal amount of power. The Nintendo Switch is truly unique among modern gaming hardware in how it combines the power of a traditional console with the portability of Nintendo’s old handhelds. This is done through the Joy-Con controller, which can be attached to the Switch’s included to be used as a handheld, connected to a special holder to emulate a traditional controller, or held as two separate pieces for motion control gameplay.

Reports are beginning to surface that an open-world Donkey Kong video game was once planned for the Nintendo Switch, but the project was scrapped. A new hour-long video claims that the Donkey Kong game would have been headed up by then-Activision subsidiary Vicarious Visions, now known as Blizzard Albany.

The newly-released Nintendo Switch exclusive scuba diving adventure game Endless Ocean: Luminous has earned mixed reviews from critics, making it one of the lower-rated Nintendo-published games in some time. Switch game Endless Ocean: Luminous is the third Endless Ocean game developed by Akira, with the first one releasing as a Wii exclusive in 2007, followed by a sequel in 2009.
