The first major expansion for MMORPG New World, titled Rise of the Angry Earth, is out now on PC. As a result, the game has seen quite a surge in sales on Steam. Thanks to the expansion, New World has also become the second-best selling game on Steam’s global top-selling chart at the time of publishing, following the recently-released Counter-Strike 2. The expansion sits at number 8.
One of the biggest new features to have made it to New World thanks to the release of the expansion is the ability for players to ride on mounts. The expansion also brings with it New World‘s third season, bringing with it a revamp to the game’s mainline story quests, as well as changes to open world PvP and other quality of life improvements, like the removal of Wards, Banes and Expertise.
Rise of the Angry Earth also brings with it a new story revolving around the titular Angry Earth going around and ravaging the lands of Aeternum. The expansion also brings with it a new level cap of 65, a new gear score cap of 700, and more progression options.
New World: Rise of the Angry Earth was first announced back in August.
