New VR company VRAL Games launches at GDC 2024

Just because a movie is iconic and beloved doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be remade, particularly if it was itself based on another work in the first place. That’s as true of the 1999 thriller The Talented Mr. Ripley as it would be of anything else. Anthony Minghella took sweeping liberties in his adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s 1955 crime novel — itself a genre-defining classic — about a young conman who first infiltrates and then cannibalizes the life of a rich American playboy whiling away a carefree existence on the Italian coast. There’s room for another take to access different parts of Highsmith’s book than Minghella did, especially in the more expansive medium of an eight-part miniseries.

On the 11th April Amazon will launch their brand new television series based on the Fallout franchise and to celebrate they are giving Amazon Prime subscribers Fallout 76 on both Xbox and PC.

Amazon is offering another decent batch of games to Prime members at no extra cost for the month of April. Leading the bunch is Fallout 76, a multiplayer take on the post-apocalyptic franchise. There’s also the hack and slash adventure Chivalry 2 and around a dozen more.

Amazon Prime Gaming’s slate of free games for April 2024 has just been revealed. As a bonus to those who subscribe to Amazon Prime, gamers can download and keep at least one free PC title a week, and they are allowed to hold onto these games even if they cancel their subscription later. There are also Prime-exclusive in-game challenges, and subscribers can also enjoy cloud-based gaming courtesy of Amazon Luna.

Cosmo Machia will release shoot ’em up game TriggerHeart EXELICA for PC via Steam on April 26 worldwide, followed by Switch on May 2, the developer announced.

Don't Nod, once the developer best known for the quirky adventure game Life is Strange, has seven games in development, four of which remain unannounced. With releases like Vampyr and Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden under its belt (and more on the way), it's clear that the company has larger publishing ambitions, wants to become a real player in a specific economic space, and is reorganizing accordingly.

Xbox Game Pass has added three new games today, including one promising day-one release and Diablo 4. The latter is the first Activision Blizzard game to reach Xbox Game Pass since Microsoft acquired the company in late 2023.

Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Game Studio's highly successful sequel to 2015's Helldivers, was the highest-growing title on PC and PS5 in the US and UK in February 2024.

Life is Strange developer Don't Nod Entertainment has seven games in the works right now. This revelation was offered as part of the studio's newly shared restructuring announcement, which will see Don't Nod reorganize around a variety of genres.

Spring isn’t just a transitional time for the weather and for gardens — it’s a major transitional time for new movie releases. Studios usually devote January and some of February to wide releases of all the Oscar-bait prestige movies that got tiny awards-qualification releases in December, and to dumping the smaller movies they have no faith in. And by the beginning of May, the first round of summer blockbuster madness will hit.

Enotria: The Last Song was initially planned to release this spring, but has now been pushed back to 21st August. It looks fairly promising in this new gameplay trailer.
