New time-themed Saw X poster hints at a horror movie full of flesh-backs

Stephen King is a big fan of No One Will Save You, the new sci-fi horror movie that just quietly dropped on Disney Plus in the UK and Hulu in the US. Starring Booksmart's Kaitlyn Dever, in a practically dialogue-free role, the film sees an isolated young woman tasked with surviving the night when her home comes under the attack of evil extraterrestrials.

is a gory onslaught of classic horror-inspired enemies. The newly-announced side-scrolling Soulslite is the newest game from both Hidetaka «SWERY» Suehiro and Goichi «Suda51» Suda, two developers who specialize in delightfully devilish, off-kilter games that wear their inspirations on their sleeves. SWERY's and its sequel comprise a duology of pastiche, featuring small-town murder mysteries, eccentric detectives, and old ladies with fortunetelling pots. Suda's series stars the gamer-turned-assassin Travis Touchdown, who's been known to debate the merits of with his targets before finishing them off.

As we all know by now, Saw X, the tenth movie in the Saw franchise, is set right after the events of the first Saw movie. This jump back in time means that audiences will yet again get to see Tobin Bell reprise his role as John Kramer, but also one of his very first Jigsaw apprentices - Amanda Young.

Insomniac Games has revealed the time it should take to complete . The highly anticipated sequel seems to have much more for players to enjoy, from a New York map that's almost doubled in size with the inclusion of Queens and Brooklyn to the ability to play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, swapping between them instantly across the open world and optimizing a variety of gadgets and special abilities across both heroes.

Starting on September 19, viewers can stream the first two seasons of 1987’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) animated series. This series is set in New York City and follows the adventures of the four turtles, Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo, and their allies April O’Neil and Casey Jones as they battle various villains such as Shredder and Krang. Unlike some of the comics and other animated TMNT media, this show is strictly light-hearted in nature and aimed at children of younger ages.

Horror movies based on barely true stories are a dime a dozen. There’s the Conjuring movies, based on the mostly fabricated cases of Ed and Lorraine Warren, The Amityville Horror, and The Exorcism of Emily Rose. But few of those movies have ever had a history as interesting or complicated as that of the supernatural demon movie The Possession, a movie about a supposedly real box haunted by a dybbuk, a demon-like spirit from Jewish mythology.

In other movie news, El Conde, the latest film from Spencer and Jackie director Pablo Larraín, is now on Netflix, and recently released comedy Theater Camp is streaming on Hulu.

GKIDS announced via X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday that Blue Giant, the new anime film from Mob Psycho 100 and Death Parade director Yuzuru Tachikawa, will screen in select U.S. theaters on Oct. 8 and 9. In a follow-up post, the film distributor also announced that Blue Giant’s North America premiere will be hosted at the Japan Society building in New York City on Oct. 6, with a Q&A with the movie’s composer, Hiromi Uehara, scheduled after the screening.

The Blackening, Tim Story’s horror-comedy about a group of Black friends on a weekend getaway at an ill-fated cabin in the woods, feels like a test case for a bunch of different experiments. Released digitally only weeks after it landed in theaters, it became the latest recent film where the rental release and box-office take were in direct competition. It’s also an unusual balancing act between snark and substance; while the comedy is broad and often highly self-aware, the script just as often slips in sincere points about race relations, Black culture, and particularly Black friendship.
