New Pac-Man Battle Royale Game Coming Next Month

Star Wars returns to Fortnite on May 3, one day before the annual May 4 Star Wars celebrations.

A new cooperative 3D platformer based on The Smurfs media franchise will come to Sony's PS4 and PS5 consoles in 2024. A number of games based on the beloved property have been released in recent years.

Fellow Traveller, a narrative games publisher, has just signed a deal with Made Up Games, a new game development studio from New York. Now, why are we talking about this deal? Well, they have also shared the news about a new interactive story and video game they’re cooking together as part of the deal.

As genre mash-ups go, I didn't see this coming. But maybe I should have, knowing how once things like battle royales pop off, they will always spawn curious mutations. Inferni: Hope And Fear is one of these curiosities, being an online co-op, deckbuilding, battle royale, with a 90s theme.

As is the case with all such subscription services though, the PS Plus Game Catalog’s library of games is a rolling one that also routinely sees games being removed.

Seven games in the Final Fantasy series are leaving the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue next month.

UPDATE 4/13: After a short time within the vault, Earthbending has returned to the game. The major issue with being able to glitch inside a player-made structure has been patched, though the normal functionality seems to be exactly as it was.

Remember when Pac-Man got its own battle royale game where 64 Pac-People competed to eat each other and be the ‘Chomp Champ’? Me neither! But Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle apparently came out on Google Stadia - ah, that’d be why - back in 2020, and served up a massively (or at least medium-ly) multiplayer spin on the arcade classic. With Stadia dead and buried, Mega Tunnel Battle is chewing its way out of the streaming console’s grave with a new subtitle and a fresh Steam release next month.
