A new Helldivers 2 mod unlocks the leaked Mech, LAV and Recon vehicle on PC.
Last week, several leaks suggested that Arrowhead's hit title will soon be getting vehicles as well as mechs through an upcoming update. Shortly after, the first game clips of players using these vehicles surfaced. Fast forward a couple of days and a crafty modder has now released a mod that enables the Mech, lightly armored vehicle and recon vehicle for PC players.
Created by 'GOD', this mod replaces a default game file in the Helldivers 2 game folder. After replacing the file, users can pick the new vehicles and Mech during mission preparation. According to the modder, this replacement file won't swap out armor or weaponry.
It will be interesting to see how Arrowhead will respond to this mod going forward. The development already confirmed that players will soon be able to use mech suits as new upcoming feature. Driveable vehicles, however, haven't officially been confirmed by Arrowhead just yet.
Helldivers 2 is available worldwide now for both PC and PlayStation 5. Recently, due to the game's ongoing success, Arrowhead raised the game's server cap to 700K. Here's what we wrote about the game in our launch review last month:
So, where does this leave us with Helldivers 2? To be quite honest, I don't know. I've had incredibly high highs with the game, and I also had my fair share of memorable moments with the folks who usually help me review this kind of game. What's more, there's no other game in the market that offers the experience that Helldivers 2 does.
