New Fallout TV series leaks give us our best look at the show yet

While everyone’s eyes are fixated on Baldur’s Gate 3, there is another massive RPG headed our way. Starfield is less than a month away and players are excited to see what Bethesda is cooking for its players. With the game coming to Xbox Game Pass, quite a few players will try it out amidst the anticipation and hype, and I definitely want to give the game a honest try. Here are the top ten things that we want to see from Starfield.

Bethesda have published a timeline detailing events in the Starfield universe from before the player's arrival. The scrollable chronology, which runs from 2050 to 2160, charts the origins of the war between the United Colonies and Freestar Collective factions, who sound more and more to me like the Union and the Confederacy in the US Civil War. We're also told about the formation of the Constellation organisation, a group of swashbuckling pioneers who are concerned with the origins of certain mystic Artifacts. And we get to read a little about a few key Starfield characters, such as space cowboy Sam Coe, careworn ex-soldier Sarah Morgan and sciencehunk Barrett. But the timeline also leaves plenty of mysteries. Join me, as I make a show of poking around in the collapsing space-museum with my tricorder.

Starfield is the first new IP from renowned developer Bethesda Game Studios since The Elder Scrolls debuted in 1994. That alone comes with lofty expectations, not to mention that the space-set RPG has become a critical release for Xbox following the disappointment of Redfall and the sparse first-party Xbox Series X|S lineup before it.

Christopher Nolan loves the big screen. Oppenheimeris proving, once again, that it loves him right back. But long before anyone had actually seen Nolan’s fantastic biopic, the director and his fans alike were talking about its biggest (literally) selling point: IMAX 70mm film projection.

Christopher Nolan seemingly included a horrifying detail in Florence Pugh’s Oppenheimer scenes. The actor plays Jean Tatlock in the movie, who was J. Robert Oppenheimer’s (Cillian Murphy) partner before his marriage to Kitty Oppenheimer (Emily Blunt). 

Christopher Nolan said it himself: Watching his movie Oppenheimerwill basically ruin your life, and might even make you feel like you’re being blown up. If Nolan fans really want that kind of overwhelming experience, they likely want to watch the film in Nolan’s preferred format. His biopic about J. Robert Oppenheimer, the man who spearheaded the development of the atomic bomb, asks the audience to stare the destroyer of worlds right in the face, and Nolan thinks the best way to do that is in 70mm IMAX film — or as some die-hards call it, “true IMAX.”

Amazon Prime Video have been relatively tight-lipped about their upcoming Fallout TV adaptation, but that hasn’t stopped photos and clips leaking online. A new batch of images and a short video have leaked from the set of the streaming series, showing what appears to be the Vault-Tec headquarters, a group of survivors, and all the decayed foliage you'd expect from the brown post-apocalypse.

Having had even more time to think about it and (like a Christopher Nolan protagonist) do a considerable amount of science on the subject, it pains me to say that part 1 of The Witcher season 3 was in fact Pretty Lousy. This isn’t all that different from what I thought at the time. I’m just even more sure of it now, as the final three episodes arrive on Netflix — which are actually a lot of fun! They don’t magically make season 3 any better, and in fact, might even highlight its shortcomings even further. But it’s got a ton of wizards shooting lasers at each other and some cool sword fights, and that’s not nothing.
