PlayStation took a giant leap forward on the controller front when it launched the PS5, introducing the world to the DualSense. However, as innovative as the DualSense is, it's not for everyone, nor is it perfect. You might prefer a controller that does certain things a little differently, or one that arguably does certain things better than the DualSense does. There are options out there, and joining those options on December 1, 2024, will be the Revolution 5 Pro.
Created by Nacon, and officially licensed by PlayStation, the Revolution Pro 5 isn't the first controller in this particular series, as its name suggests. It has been in the works for a number of years though and improves on Nacon's last Pro controller in a number of ways. Most notably the battery life. Boasting up to ten hours, not only is the amount of time you can use the new controller a significant step up on its predecessor, but it's also an improvement in an area where the DualSense is heavily criticized.

The Revolution Pro 5 also comes with a three-meter cable, so if you ever find yourself low on battery, you can be tethered to your console without having to sit right in front of your TV. The biggest appeal of the controller though is its customization options. The Pro 5 comes with three sets of stick sizes and stick heads, and even various weights so you can quite literally alter how heavy the controller is depending on your own preference.
The next evolution of the NACON controller is the Revolution Pro 5. Compatible with the PS5, PS4, and PC, the Pro 5 has 60 customization options, boasts a 10-hour battery life, and is available in black or white.
The Pro 5 also has an app that includes 60 different customization options for the controller, allowing you to truly make it unique to you and your playstyle. Retailing at $190.09 and available to pre-order through the link above, the controller is available in black or white, and even if you don't have a PS5, this might still be the controller for you. The Revolution Pro 5 is also compatible with the PS4 and PC.
Three years into the PS5's lifecycle, controller options are really starting to ramp up. The DualSense Edge launched earlier this year, and PlayStation's Deep Earth collection controllers are now available to pre-order. The new color options added via the collection include Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver.
