Mortal Kombat 1 Brings Back Sektor’s Fan-Favourite Fatality With Predictably Gory Results

One of my favourite things about writing about MORTAL KOMBAT 1 is that my laptop has decided that the words MORTAL KOMBAT must be capitalised at all times. This is indeed how you must think it/shout it/sing it if you’re given half a chance. Even my laptop knows the power of the words. And now, so will you.

One of the best things about Mortal Kombat games, and one of the main things that sets it apart from other famous fighting series, is its brutal fatalities. Finishing cinematics characters deploy to confirm they have won the match. Whether it be ripping out an opponent's spine, skull still attached, or freezing them solid so they can be shattered into a thousand pieces, there have been some very cool fatalities over the years, pun very much intended. Some of them will return for Mortal Kombat 1, including a fan favorite courtesy of Cyrax.

A new trailer was shown off for Mortal Kombat 1 as part of the Gamescom Opening Night Live stream. Beyond being another peek at the narrative, there are a few character reveals, as well.

A new was shown off during today’s Gamescom opening night presentation, revealing four characters who will be in the game — two as playable characters and the other two as Kameo Fighters.

Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon showed up to Gamescom’s Opening Night Live stream on Tuesday and brought what Boon described as the “craziest trailer of all” from Mortal Kombat 1. That could be considered an exaggeration, right up until Sindel — a newly confirmed fighter — nearly rips off Raiden’s legs like he’s a rotisserie chicken and yanks General Shao’s skull and spine clean out of his torso.

As expected,Mortal Kombat fans just got their first look at four new Mortal Kombat 1 fighters during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live. 

NetherRealm’s Mortal Kombat 1 is just a few weeks away, and players are slowly learning about what’s in store. GamesHub’s Edmond Tran recently revealed an interesting detail that suggests the upcoming game may feature some nifty accessibility options. After losing in the Mortal Kombat 1 beta, he did a little sleuthing and discovered that he was playing what he believes to be a blind gamer. This led to him learning that the fighting game features a descriptive audio option for Fatalities.

Diablo Immortal’s 17th Season is coming with the new update, which also adds dozens of new Legendary items, a new Battle Pass, atweaked Conqueror PvP event, and the arrival of Training Grounds.  

It’s less than a month until release, and the Mortal Kombat 1 beta, which was made available to those who pre-ordered the game, provides a taste of what’s to come. While it doesn’t showcase the story mode or all the fighters available in the video game, it demonstrates how this soft reboot may rejuvenate the franchise in all the right ways.
