Nintendo's amiibo run may now have come to an end following the release of Sora's figure in February, but that doesn't mean it can't give collectors a chance to plug gaps in their collections now that there aren't new amiibo to worry about. Nintendo has been steadily doing that already in 2024, and now GameStop has afforded Monster Hunter fans a chance they likely thought they wouldn't get again.
GameStop has restocked two of the three amiibo that were released alongside the launch of Monster Hunter Stories 2 on Nintendo Switch. Tsukino and Ena's amiibo are back in stock, both priced at $19.99 each. The restock coincides with the reveal of more information related to Capcom's plans for Monster Hunter Stories later this year.
It had already been revealed that a remaster of the 3DS title, now fully voiced, is coming to Switch. Capcom has not only confirmed the remaster will also be launching on PlayStation and PC, but also that Monster Hunter Stories 2 is coming to PlayStation for the first time too. A collection that bundles both Monster Hunter Stories games together will also be available, the physical version of which appears to be a Switch exclusive.
Tsukino's amiibo is based on the character's design in Monster Hunter Stories 2. Scanning the amiibo will let you play Tsukino's Lunar Luck once per day, and unlocks special layered armor.
You can buy the Tsukino and Ena amiibo through the links in the boxes above and below regardless of the platform you plan to play the games on, but they will be little more than decorative if you're playing on PlayStation. If you own Monster Hunter Stories 2 on Switch, you can get a little more out of your amiibo. Scan either amiibo once per day to play Tsukino's Lunar Luck in Monster Hunter Stories 2, and each figure will also unlock in-game armor. They can also be used to unlock a sticker set in Monster Hunter Rise.
Ena's amiibo is based on the character's design in Monster Hunter Stories 2. Scanning the figure gets you special in-game armor, and it can also be used to unlock a stick sheet in Monster Hunter Rise.
Nintendo released Noah and Mio amiibo in January, and then a Sora figure the month after to complete its Super Smash Bros. Ultimate collection. Since then, Nintendo has been restocking various amiibo from its past. Select Pokemon amiibo were restocked last month, although they seem to have quickly sold out again, and Breath of the Wild's Guardian amiibo has been re-released. With no concrete information on Nintendo's next generation, there's still no telling if amiibo will have a future beyond the Switch.

Capcom has made a strong mark on the modern open world space with the recently released Dragon’s Dogma 2, but it seems like the company has an even bigger behemoth waiting in the wings. The Monster Hunter Stories remaster was officially announced during the Nintendo Direct in February. If you want both that and its sequel, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, together, you can now preorder the physical version of the Monster Hunter Stories Collection for Nintendo Switch at various retailers (see at Amazon). This version comes with a game card for Monster Hunter Stories and then a download voucher for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.
Nintendo potentially brought the curtain down on its amiibo era last month by releasing its Sora amiibo. The addition of the Kingdom Hearts hero to its Smash Ultimate collection means every fighter in the game now has their own amiibo. For figures released alongside a new game, you have to go back even further. Zelda and Ganondorf's Tears of the Kingdom amiibo were released last year, and after selling out fast wherever they pop up, the figures are back in stock at Best Buy.
