After an earlier leak seemed to confirm that Metal Gear Solid 4 will eventually make its way to Metal Gear Solid Master Collection, more evidence of a remaster of the beloved PS3 classic has emerged, with hints of more to come.
Reddit user Timo653 recently posted photos of code they say were taken from the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection launcher. The strings seem to indicate that Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, and even Metal Gear Solid 5 will be added at some point in the future.
IGN has since examined the code and can confirm that the references are authentic.
The discovery sparked plenty of excitement among fans, not the least because Metal Gear Solid 4 is only available on the defunct PlayStation 3. Released in 2008, Metal Gear Solid 4 concluded Solid Snake's tale while tying heavily into the story of Big Boss. It's an entry beloved by fans and critics alike, with IGN writing in our 10/10 review that "its depth and its complexity, coupled with its technical prowess, make it one of the best games of the year and, indeed, one of the best games ever made."
At the time, it was touted as the final game in the series, but creator Hideo Kojima would return to the well one more time with Metal Gear Solid 5.
The leak follows the earlier discovery of Metal Gear Solid 4, Peace Walker, and Metal Gear Solid 5 placeholders on the official website. IGN has previously reported that the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 lineup is accurate.
Whenever Metal Gear Solid Vol. 2 is finally released, it will hopefully be more successful than Volume 1. The PC version has been under fire due to Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 being locked to 720p despite being touted as outputting in 1080p. The Switch version, meanwhile, doesn't include all of the collection's games on the cart, forcing players to download Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, and 3.

A new Metal Gear Solid Master Collection mod adds custom resolution, ultrawide support, and more to both Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3.
While Metal Gear Solid fans are naturally pleased to see Konami working on two new entries for the series, the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta - a remake of 2004's MGS3: Snake Eater - has led to some debate online about what exactly has changed visually and gameplay-wise. Recently, some MGS fans on Reddit put together a video showing a side-by-side comparison of the recent gameplay trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta and 2015's MGS5: The Phantom Pain, and fans are finding plenty to talk about.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is a multi-platform release, but that isn't stopping Xbox from giving it the full first-party treatment. Xbox users booting up their console today were greeted with a large splash screen prompting them to buy it now that the new campaign is out, and some of them aren't too happy about it.
Fans were delighted to see David Hayter return to Metal Gear in a promotional video for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Legacy Series (and recently released Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1).
Konami has enlisted fan favourite Metal Gear voice actor David Hayter to promote its recent series revival.
Even among Hideo Kojima's most diehard fans (not to be confused with Die-Hardman), I think it's a damn near universal opinion that Kojima made the wrong call when he replaced longtime voice actor David Hayter with Kiefer Sutherland in Metal Gear Solid 5. It didn't help that compared to Hayter's gravelly-but-slightly-goofy performance, Sutherland seemed a bit subdued—or phoned in, depending on who you ask.
The Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection received a much-needed HD texture pack which improves the visuals of the second and third entries in the series.
Most people love the Metal Gear series and are quick to rank their favorite games in the franchise. But are most people going to bother to rank the actual Metal Gear robots? Nope! Let’s dive in.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is set to look much better than the original game, judging from a new comparison video shared online.
It took a modder just hours to make a tool that would render Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 at higher resolutions.
Out of nowhere, Konami treated Metal Gear fans with a new trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater at the first Xbox Partner Preview event, which gave us a look at the game in action for the very first time. While it was only a trailer intended to show off the game's new engine, it did give us some gameplay to look over, as well as a good idea of what the title may look like when it finally hits store shelves. Unfortunately, quite a few people aren't too happy with what they saw.
