Between all the big games coming up, it’s easy to forget about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 from Insomniac Games. Following up on the acclaimed 2018 open-world title, the sequel features Peter Parker and Miles Morales as playable characters. New York is also about twice as large, with Brooklyn, Queens and the new Coney Island available to visit.
So it’s perhaps no surprise if the installation size also increases. As spotted by @SpiderManCD on Twitter on the limited edition PS5 console bundle for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, it will require 98 GB minimum. You can barely make it out in the lower left corner near the developer’s name.
It likely doesn’t include a potential day one, so the final file size could be even bigger. Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is about 53.76 GB on PS5, meaning the sequel may occupy almost twice as much space.
Insomniac Games hasn’t confirmed the final file size, so stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launches on October 20th, with pre-loads starting on October 13th.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 officially requires a minimum of 98 GB per the official Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition Console Bundle Retail Box. <a href=«https://twitter.com/hashtag/SpiderMan2PS5?src=hash&ref_src=» https:>#SpiderMan2PS5

— Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Countdown
It’s been confirmed that no matter who you play as in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, you’ll still be able to see the other Spider-Man out and about in New York, stopping crime.
Spider-Man 2 will allow you to play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales when it launches next month, even allowing you to switch between the two web-slingers with just the push of a single button. While it was never confirmed what the other Spider-Man is actually doing when you're not in control of them, most of us assumed that the other would simply vanish into the ether, prepared to leap into action at a moment's notice whenever the player feels like switching again.
Given the presumably mammoth sales projections Sony has for PS5 exclusive Marvel's Spider-Man 2, playing too fast and loose with the open world formula at Insomniac Games was probably out of the question. This is a franchise that shifts hardware, and after a year slightly lighter on PlayStation Studios content than usual, the title is a beaming light at the end of the tunnel. A portion of sales is already guaranteed based on the name alone, but the rest will flock when its quality is realised. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is a sequel that builds on past entries in all the right ways: safe but supremely solid in some and excitingly daring in others. While just a taste was on display at a recent preview event, it exhibited why the joint adventure of Peter Parker and Miles Morales is yet another Game of the Year contender.
Insomniac Games has revealed the time it should take to complete . The highly anticipated sequel seems to have much more for players to enjoy, from a New York map that's almost doubled in size with the inclusion of Queens and Brooklyn to the ability to play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, swapping between them instantly across the open world and optimizing a variety of gadgets and special abilities across both heroes.
Last week further cemented the hype around Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, as a duo of trailers brought forth information about the 65 suits you’ll be able to put onto Peter Parker or Miles Morales as they attempt to save the city, the digital deluxe exclusives you can get, and the massive amount of stuff to do in New York City. However, that wasn’t the only piece of information that fans got. A demo went around for certain people; through this, more insight was brought about the Symbiote Suit and the “catalyst” villain for the game, Kraven The Hunter.
The developer of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has made "a big effort" with the sequel's side content, which includes more narrative than ever before.
Insomniac Games has let slip a new trailer for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 where they detail new gameplay changes show off a greatly expanded map for the sequel. The new map is significantly larger, presumably to accommodate all the new powers and to make room for two Spider-heroes swinging about at once.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is still a little over a month away, but a new round of previews has given us a whole lot more info about this new version of New York and what players can expect to do and find while zipping across the city. For example, we discovered that the backpack collectibles from both the first game and Spider-Man: Miles Morales have been removed in favor of small Spider-Bots that you can find throughout New York.

Insomniac Games has shared an interesting little tidbit about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2‘s Digital Deluxe Edition exclusive extra suits.
Both andhad several alternate suits for people to unlock and fight crime across New York, and will be no different. The suits in the game are inspired by all forms of media, from the comics in which the superheroes originated to movies such as or Sam Raimi's trilogy, and include several original designs made specifically for each game.
During the September 2023 State of Play aired a few hours ago, Sony and Insomniac Games showed off the expanded New York City available in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
