Marvel's Spider-Man 2 hit PlayStation 5 exclusively on October 20 and quickly became Sony's fastest-selling first-party game. While we loved the game – read Game Informer's Marvel's Spider-Man 2 review here – players have discovered bugs and issues leading to laughter and, in some cases, progress impediment. It seems like you can't swing down a single street in Spider-Man 2 without bumping into a reference or two. Even taking away the many, many suits you can unlock that are direct nods to other Marvel properties, you still have locations like the Wakandan Embassy and Sanctum Sanctorum that you can find while thwipping across New York. In fact, the latter even lets you throw up a wholesome Wakanda Forever salute outside of its doors as a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, but you'd better make sure you're playing as Miles Morales if you want to do it.
A new book has retconned a continuity error that arose in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.
In Marvel's Spider-Man 2, even rats are full of detail - despite the fact you'll rarely interact with them.
is undoubtedly an improvement over its already-acclaimed predecessors, with a larger map and new gameplay mechanics. However, it did launch without one feature that was included in those titles: New Game Plus. New Game Plus has become a common addition to narrative-driven titles, offering a way for players to revisit the game's story after completing it without having to restart the game from scratch.
is set to improve on both of its predecessors with a wealth of new mechanics. This includes the option to switch between both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, special combat abilities such as Peter's more brutal Symbiote moves and Miles' improved bioelectric attacks, and new ways to traverse the city with a wealth of web-swinging animations and other options. However, despite these enhancements, some players may never see the game's most impressive feature: Insomniac's overhauled Fast Travel mechanic.
