Major Xbox Console Exclusive Gets Disappointing Update For Series X/S

Singularity Six has revealed a plethora of new content coming as part of Palia's new April update. Patch 0.179 marks an exciting time for Palia fans, with the game receiving several quality-of-life improvements as well as game-enhancing features.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has received a new update that adds a 40 FPS mode for players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. Ubisoft's latest open world adventure game, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was released just before the end of 2023 and has mainly been praised for its stunning first-person visuals. Set in the timeline of the blockbuster films, Frontiers of Pandora gives players control of a young Na'vi as they escape and fight back against the RDA.

Xbox Game Pass is making four more games available to subscribers, including a day-one launch title and three additions for Core members. Xbox Game Pass Core, which launched in September 2023, replaced Xbox Live Gold and did away with the two free games subscribers received each month. Instead, for the same price, Core offers a catalog of more than 25 games for members to enjoy at their leisure, and the selection of titles changes about two to three times per year.

Microsoft has announced that the Xbox Mastercard is now available for everyone in the continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii. The Xbox Mastercard launched back in September 2023 as an exclusive perk for Xbox Insiders.

One of 2023's best indie games, Planet of Lana, is coming to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch almost a full year after its initial release. Planet of Lana first launched in late May 2023 as a day one Xbox Game Pass title, simultaneously releasing on PC, but unfortunately leaving Switch and PlayStation gamers waiting for another year.

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass continues to offer an appealing library of games for members to enjoy, and the selection changes every month as new titles are added and others are removed.

There is a new patch for Infection Free Zone on Steam. Steam is a hot spot for games within the survival genre and many of these games often have addictive gameplay loops that fans don't get tired of. Rust, Valheim, and Palworld are all examples of games that incorporate survival elements and have drawn in large numbers of players in recent years, and Infection Free Zone appears to be doing the same.

Developer Iron Gate Studio has released a new update for Valheim that includes a Unity engine upgrade, performance improvements, and various bug fixes. Iron Gate explained that the update's main goal is to make Valheim smoother and prepare it for the future Ashlands update.

Microsoft teased its plans for next-generation Xbox hardware back in February, saying that it was focussed on delivering the “largest technical leap” for a new console generation with the next Xbox. Now, more details about Microsoft's plans for its next console have emerged, reiterating the same claim. An internal email shared with Xbox staff has revealed that Microsoft is “moving full speed ahead” on its next-generation Xbox hardware.

Respawn Entertainment has just released a new update for the ever-popular battle royal, Apex Legends. The small update features several quality-of-life fixes for Apex Legends players on PC and Nintendo Switch, but Respawn also has some surprise tweaks in store for ranked players.

Assassin's Creed Mirage update 1.0.8 is set to roll out on Tuesday, April 9, at 4am PT / 7am ET / 1pm CET. The upcoming patch will introduce fixes for some Assassin's Creed Mirage quest bugs and performance improvements, among other changes.
