When the Apple Watch Ultra was introduced in 2022, it occupied a must-fill niche for the company. The original Apple Watches were technological marvels with sleek, elegant design, but they didn't look so good out in the wilderness. The Ultra is a bigger, more conventional-looking timepiece with a larger Digital Crown and a new contextual button that lets you trigger different functions depending on the app you're running, from starting workouts to triggering an emergency siren.
You can read our full review for all the details, but to summarize, we said that the Apple Watch Ultra is "an excellent adventure-focused wearable with features that encourage exploration and keep you safe in the wild." While the second-generation version is out, we can't say that the improvements it brings are necessarily must-haves. The first-gen Ultra is massively capable, with epic battery life and a host of fun and useful features. With cellular connectivity and out-of-the-box GPS, it will accompany you wherever you take it.
Other attractive elements include a WR100 rating, meaning the watch can withstand depths of up to 328 feet. This pairs with the extremely cool Depth app that lets you monitor water temperature and other metrics when you're submerged. This is truly a watch for explorers, travelers and people who love adventure.
There are some caveats: this offer is only for the model with the Alpine Loop band in orange and size small. But you can always use the $140 you save to pick up a replacement band in any size and material you want.
