At Las Vegas Fanfest, Dawntrail was announced, and with it the setting of the expansion: the previously unseen continent of Tural, previously known only as the New World. With the London Fanfest keynote, we got a deeper look into some of the new continent of FFXIV, Tural, and what we’ll be traversing on the new South American inspired continent.
With some early development footage, we got more of a look at the expansion’s hub city, Tuliyollal. Of significant note is a glance at the new tavern area, which every starting hub city in the game includes.
The colorful rug is a nice touch. It has its own distinct tavern feeling that isn’t too similar to the ones we have already. It’s not quite the Quicksand, not quite the Carline Canopy, and not quite Mehryde’s Meyhane.
We also got a deeper glance into one of the areas revealed last time, Kozama’uka, with the stunning artwork of its waterfalls followed by screenshots of the area rendered perfectly from the concept art.

What a gorgeously tropical area I can’t wait to explore and spend hours in Gpose.
But we also got a glance into a new area called Shaaloani. Shaaloani is an arid, desert region of Tural in the very center. Most interestingly, the area has been transformed by ceruleum deposits being discovered, and railroads have been built throughout it. It was even remarked the area is ideal to take out your dirtbike mounts in.
If you’ve played the Blue Mage questline, ceruleum deposits in Tural should sound familiar to you. Is this the region we’ve been hinted at before? Something tells me these deposits will become an important plot point, if the Blue Mage questline is anything to go off of.
Still, the new areas are beautiful. What more is there not yet shown?

Newly released cooperative horror indie game Lethal Company is getting a lot of buzz from early players. It's a simple setup: You and your crew of three other scavengers drop on to an abandoned moon station, get as many valuables as you can, and get out. If that seems simple, well, there are a lot of ways for it to go wrong, and a lot of them have way more legs than I prefer anything larger than a thumbnail to have.
