Naughty Dog has confirmed that The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered will feature series composer Gustavo Santaolalla as a playable character in the Guitar Free Play mode. The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is an enhanced version of The Last of Us 2 that will release exclusively for the PlayStation on Friday, January 19. Beyond improving the graphics, The Last of Us 2 Remastered also features brand-new game modes for fans to try.
The headlining new game mode in The Last of Us 2 Remastered is its roguelike No Return mode. Featuring multiple playable characters pulled from The Last of Us games, including fan favorite Joel Miller, Naughty Dog seems to be pushing The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered's No Return mode as the game's main selling point. However, there are other modes for fans to check out, including the Guitar Free Play mode.
Naughty Dog recently shared more information about what fans can expect from The Last of Us 2 Remastered's Guitar Free Play mode. In a recent tweet, Naughty Dog confirmed that The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered's Guitar Free Play mode lets players use a banjo if they'd like, and it also gives them the option to play as series composer Gustavo Santaolalla instead of Ellie. This is a neat option for hardcore fans of the franchise, though it remains to be seen how much time fans are going to spend playing Guitar Free Play mode.
One has to imagine most Last of Us 2 Remastered players will be getting the upgrade to play through the game's story, Lost Levels, or the aforementioned No Return mode. Something like Guitar Free Play is icing on the cake, not the main attraction. Regardless, anyone interested in trying out any of the new content coming as part of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered should note that they can upgrade from the PS4 version of the game for just $10.
In the meantime, Naughty Dog has teased what else fans can expect from The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. As confirmed by another recent tweet, The Last of Us 2 Remastered players will instantly unlock any of the trophies that they earned in the original version of the game. For some fans, that will be like getting an extra Platinum trophy for $10. There will be some new trophies for fans to unlock as well, revolving around the No Return mode.

You can blame the delay in this production on the strikes in Hollywood. But now that the strikes have ended, productions have once again started back up with The Last of Us season two, which is expected to begin filming shortly.
The Last Of Us Season 2 is set to begin filming over the next few days, and in preparation, the entire cast of the show and the show's production crew all recently met up in Canada. It seems as though to potentially celebrate the start of filming and to properly introduce the new faces playing characters such as Dina and Jesse, the crew went out to dinner, and took a lovely group picture to bookmark the occasion.
