Created by Bill Finger and Dick Sprang, Kite Man/Charles “Chuck” Brown first appeared in 1960’s Batman #133. While he’s long served as an antagonist to the Dark Knight, Kite Man is considered to be a low-tier villain and is often ridiculed for his appearance and gimmick. Writer Tom King gave the character his “Kite Man, hell yeah!” catchphrase during his run on Batman in DC Rebirth’s era.
In DC’s animated Harley Quinn series, Kite Man is first introduced as a love interest to Poison Ivy. The two are briefly engaged but later break up when Ivy declares her love for Harley. Shortly after that, Kite Man then begins dating Golden Glider.
Matt Oberg voices the character in both Harley Quinn and Kite Man: Hell Yeah! Starring alongside him, per Variety, is Stephanie Hsu as Golden Glider, James Adomian as Bane, Keith David as Darkseid, Michael Imperioli as Moe and Joe Dubelz, Lance Reddick as Lex Luthor, Natasia Demetriou as Malice, Janelle James as the Queen of Fables, Jonathan Banks as Noonan, and Judith Light as Helen Villigan.
The series is executive producer by Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, Kaley Cuoco, and Lorey, all of whom also work on Harley Quinn.
