The upcoming DC Universe media franchise helmed by James Gunn is going to include more than just movies, and the development of video games within the DCU sphere is coming at a particularly interesting time. Not too much is known about the upcoming , but DC Studios co-CEO did recently debunk a handful of rumors about what villains would be involved in the film.
In a response to a post on the social media platform Threads, Gunn said that a story going around that said Professor Pyg and Scarecrow would be joining Clayface, Hush, and Dick Grayson in The Batman: Part II was “totally made up.”
While rumors of Clayface and Hush — two iconic villains in the Batman comics — appearing in the film have been around for nearly a year now, this is the first time that Gunn has responded to rumors about other villains.
It is worth nothing, however, that when asked about which characters would be “a dream to incorporate in the world of The Batman” in March 2022, director Matt Reeves said, via Twitter Movies, “I think Hush is a really interesting one to do. I’ll choose Hush. That doesn’t mean the next one will be Hush.”
Little is known about the plot of The Batman: Part II so far, though Robert Pattinson is set to return as the titular Dark Knight. The first film did tease the Joker and leave the Riddler alive at Arkham, so one or both of these iconic antagonists could make a return.
