Italian developer Jyamma Games announced the release date of its hotly anticipated Soulslike game Enotria: The Last Song during yesterday's Streamer Awards 2024.
The game, powered by Unreal Engine 5, will be available on June 21 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X. Wishlisting is already available on all platforms. The Steam page also includes the official PC system requirements for Enotria: The Last Song.
Unlike most Soulslike games, which tend to feature dreary and oppressive atmospheres, Enotria: The Last Song will take place in a sun-drenched Italy-inspired landscape. The developers have called the setting 'Summer Souls'. Of course, that doesn't mean there are no wrongs to be righted.
The lovely land is forced into endless stasis by the Canovaccio, as if it was an endless play. Players will have to defeat the Authors that crafted the Canovaccio by wielding Ardore, a sword capable of altering reality, which comes in handy both to solve puzzles and during combat.
The gameplay mechanics also include wearing different Masks acquired from fallen enemies. These Masks each come with their pros and cons, allowing players to craft their own play style (also thanks to the Path of Innovators talent tree). It's also possible to swap between three customizable loadouts at any time, depending on the situation.
There aren't many Soulslike games due in 2024, with the notable exception of the Elden Ring DLC, for which we don't have a date yet. This may give Enotria: The Last Song a better chance at emerging in the increasingly busy action game genre.
