Just nine days ago, Italian independent developer Jyamma Games revealed that its debut project, Enotria: The Last Song, would launch on June 21.
However, three days later, FromSoftware finally broke the silence on Shadow of the Erdtree, announcing that the much-anticipated expansion to Elden Ring would launch that same day.
Needless to say, this was a major inconvenience for Jyamma Games. Enotria: The Last Song is a Soulslike game, after all, and going toe-to-toe as a brand new studio and franchise against the genre's behemoth would not be advisable. After briefly joking on Twitter about the news, the developer has shared a message penned by CEO Giacomo Greco, who revealed that the launch date will be moved.
I wanted to thank all the gamers and content creators who supported us during the launch of our latest trailer. We are perfectly aware that release on the same day as Elden Ring for us, as for any other game, would be suicidal.
For this reason, we were ready immediately to be able to take different paths and possibly postpone the game. On the 21st of March, during the Future Game Show, we will release our gameplay trailer, and on that occasion, we will also let you know the new release date of our title.
We will also have another big news to communicate to you on 21st of March, so we ask you to be patient and to continue to follow and support us.
It sounds like a delay is in order, then, though the best option would likely be to move up the date and launch before Shadow of the Erdtree. Soulslike fans could then use Enotria: The Last Song as an appetizer before the main course. Of course, this would hinge on the game being ready at least a few weeks before the original intended date, and it may not be feasible for Jyamma.
One thing is certain: the setting will be completely different from your usual Soulslike game, as Enotria: The Last Song takes place in sun-drenched Italy.

Renowned Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki recently spoke about the future of the Dark Souls franchise, suggesting he is open to «delegating» the directorial position to others. Since the debut of Demon's Souls in 2009, the Souls franchise has grown into one of the most recognizable brands within gaming, defining a genre that became known as "Souls-like" games. The franchise has made developer FromSoftware into a household name, recently winning Game of the Year in 2022 for the highly-anticipated Elden Ring. Now, Miyazaki could be looking to take a step back from the franchise.

Elden Ring’s upcoming expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, got its first gameplay trailer, and FromSoftware isn’t easing up on the mystery, or the depth in the new content on the way.
With Shadow of the Erdtree serving as the first paid expansion for Elden Ring (and FromSoftware’s largest yet), many assume it will provide a tougher challenge. It’s a pattern with the developer’s previous expansions, as seen in Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City, Bloodborne: The Old Hunters.
